Seriously guys, we are churning out these threads bashing Weis at an astonishing rate. Do we really need 10 more threads weekly bashing him? I thought that if you had something to say on a similar topic, you should post it in an existing thread, but if you had a new topic, put it in a thread. Obviously I'm wrong, as before the season's out we're probably going to have about 100 CW-bashing threads in this forum. This is ridiculous guys, and I'm getting sick of all this negativity.
Kool-Aid and Irish Eyes aside, this team is stinking it up, has been stinking it up, and will continue to stink it up. God, I hope we don't lose to Navy, Air Force, Duke, and Stanford, but reality is that if we can finish 5-7 I'd be pretty amazed. Maybe it's coaching, maybe it's players giving up in the 2nd half, there's a lot, a LOT of places we can point fingers, most of all is Charlie Weis. He's searching for a solution but he's admitted that it's frustrating to try and go and find something that works and to hit a brick wall every time. And yeah, the result is that we've been underperforming, youth and inexperience aside.
But here's the facts: For the last two years, CW has put together top-tier recruiting classes. This year, he's poised to go for the number 1 spot. Instead of commits jumping ship at the sight of our dead-last offense and 1-7 record, more are coming on. Floyd, a five star receiver just committed in light of a)an 0-38 loss to USC on his official visit, b) a 1-7 season with one of the worst offenses, and c) Matt Carufel, who's from his HS, transferred in a very unflattering manner.
Guys, there's a reason why these recruits are coming here, and let me tell you, it ain't just the academics and the history, and it certainly isn't the team's record. It's CW. So yeah, this season sucks, and sucks hard, but like every other thinking person out there I know that these Ty comparisons are way off base (Ty's recruiting sucks, the season bears testament). Bare Minimum: let CW see the team mature. Right now only the freshmen and sophomores are people he recruited. Next year if the ship isn't turning around, well, then it's pretty obvious what needs to be done.
But for now, just shut up. Post on an existing thread, I don't want to have to sift through all of your negative, rehashed, hackneyed crap to get to something new.
