Guitterez just got replaced by some Polish lady too.

Malloy - Jenkins
Scully - Afleck-Graves
Hatch -
Duerson -
Willingham & co. - Weis & co.
Johnson - MacDonald
Guiterrez - Crnkovich

I am elated.

P.S. 'Awesome' is a strong term. If these allegations are true, he is in deep doo-doo, which I would hate to wish on anybody.

If the allegations are true he deserves to be in deep doo doo. I have no respect for guys that beat on women. They should throw this guy behind bars.

Man im getting ready for a NC in the next 3 years. I read somewere that Monk was interfering with Football practices any truth to this or just another stupid lie. I also read that without Monk and Ty we will see at least a BCS bowl. Dont know if any of those rumors are true but just for your info.........

wha?!? did you read this in the sports stats book that biff uses in "back to the future"?

our chances of landing a BCS bowl are based mostly on how C-Dub handles the team and how the team responds to his coaching style.

No i read it off a blog - i can get you the link if you want. But what the guy said is that Malloy was interfering with coach hirings recruiting and even football practiced and just by malloy leaving we should see marked improvement and if we fired willingham (this was before we fired him) and hired Weis or someone like that we could get as good as a BCS bowl, or even a National Championship!

I don't know that this is such a good thing...

For one, if its all true, I kinda feel bad for the guy's wife. Her health & well-being is a little more important than the school's football team. Also, if it is true, I know we all weren't too fond of Duerson b/c of what he said a few weeks back, but to the rest of the country he's still Irish. Doesn't really present a good picture of the university...

I hate people that attack a injured horse like Duerson. Right when everything seemed gloomiest he and Malloy start attacking the decision to fire ty. Its like wait till after the darkest days are over then if you're goin to say something go ahead. But he and Malloy added fuel to the fire. Like Kelly Green said good riddinance from Notre Dame.

Rev. Malloy assumed direct control over football and was 'responsible' for hiring both O'Leary and Willingham. Coupled with his past statements citing Stanford as a model of what ND was to become during his tenure, many felt the diminution of football was the intentional resultant of a supposed 'Monk Doctrine.'

In essence-by emulating Stanford-many felt Malloy wanted a large sprawling research campus to replace the small residential liberal arts campus it is known for; many felt he wanted graduate students teaching classes rather than professors (who would thereafter do only research); many felt he wanted the religious dimension of the school lessened (or abolished); many felt he wanted the athletics tradition of the school lessened; and many felt he wanted the emphasis placed on graduate studies (and particularly, the sciences) over undergraduate studies and the humanities.

In essence, by modeling ND after Stanford, many felt Rev. Malloy wanted ND to become the opposite of what it is. Destroying our status as a football power would be part of that, hence the doubt that there was any serious interest in improving football.

No. Rev. Malloy assumed direct control of football after Davie was hired.

Rev. Jenkins seems more the breed the alumni expect. He is a legit scholar and has published a book through Columbia University Press, a Thomistic philosopher with outstanding academic credentials, and-by all accounts-a true ND man (in the sense that he respects what ND is and lacks any insecurity about that identity). His willingness to drop the hammer on Willingham-in the face of Rev. Malloy and a known media onslaught led by Disney (ESPN)-spoke volumes about his future leadership potential.

Really, there are several problematic figures in the administration, and they are being purged and replaced by stronger visionary leaders like Rev. Jenkins & the McCartan wing of the Board of Trustees.

Continuing: There are many Notre Dame alums-apparently like Chris Zorich-who went to Notre Dame because of what it was, but now want to claim they have an Ivy League degree. So they claim the athletic, and even religious, identity is 'not important,' and do whatever they can to make a great small Catholic school a banal major secular research institution.

It's pathetic. I go to the later now and hate every minute of it.

agree. notre dame is what it is because of football. duke is what it is because of basketball. with that comes high academic standards and a great education. why? schools like these now can be more selective with the entrance requirements and accept only the best because of the reputation that the school has, which was originally built upon athletics.

I think al;l people need a good ass kicking once in a while I do not know why he hit her... But if it had to do with her slobbering on somebody elses pole I would say it is justified. :pileof: :boohoo:

Agreed.

This is more what I thought it would sound like: http://www.southbendtribune.com/stories/2005/02/08/local.20050208-sbt-LOCL-A1-ND_trustee_accused.sto

I suspect he got pissed at something she said/did, grabbed her, got disgusted and through her out (where she hit her head). I know not what she did, but I suspect she pissed him off with fairly good reason. Depending on what happened, he might even have shown tremendous restraint. It is conceivable that she hurt herself if she tripped on the way out. It is conceivable (probable?)that she won't press charges.

LOL didnt mean to offend anybody...

But I think a lot of people deserve whats coming. I do not agree with random beatings of your spouse.
And on the other side some people have never learned to deal with their anger and they explode in unhealthy ways, thats when it becomes bad.

It's Dave here, and I'm Mr.Clean.
They call me "hit man,"
Don't know what they mean.
They throw it long and watch me run,
I'm on my man, one-on-one.
Buddy's guys cover it down to the bone,
That's why they call us the 46 zone.
Come on everybody let's scream and yell,
We're goin' to do the Shuffle,
Then ring your bell.

Famous Last Words: http://www.chokeabitch.com (Just replace "Wayne Brady" with "Dave Duerson")

Seriously, let's all hope that "Double D" gets the help (and punishment) that he needs. He was great for us in a lot of ways, but hitting on your spouse is unacceptable. You can shake the hell of out 'em, but you can't hit.
