Tommy has been and is an integral part of this team and it's success. He has been used when needed and also when there was an opportunity for Golson to have a learning moment or a maturing moment. in my humble opinion those days are over. EG gives us the best opportunity to win. Tommy, as proud of him as I am, should be used on an "as needed" basis. It is time to stop this back and forth. If EG can't go I get it, otherwise, at this point, I say lets win or lose with Everett. What say you???

What do I say? That this doesn't need yet another thread.

I dont hate Tommy...I just hate that he seemingly has 9 lives but Hendrix, Crist, and Golson have far fewer. Golson is our #1 clearly...if he gets hurt i'm okay with Tommy in short doses but I also wouldn't mind knowing for sure that he's even better than Hendrix

I know this subject has been hashed out in different threads one way or another, but my point to the tone deaf, is that something has shifted AT THIS POINT, in game nine, where the tide has turned, the light has come on where this should be a moot point. Or as some people's opinion should be a "mute" point.

He's a turnover waiting to happen.
His arm is just too limited to play full time if Golson isn't hurt.

I love how Tommy has pulled through most of the season, but I believe this game shows that this job belongs to EG. Period.

I feel like someone has made this post every game for the past 3 years...insert [Hendrix] or [Crist] or [Montanta], ok well maybe not Montana but you get the point

You quoted him, but did you read him. He didn't say anything about inserting another quarterback, and unlike a lot of other games I believe there was a pivotal moment with regard to the quarterback position today. Maybe you didn't see it that way, but to put a finer point on the OP, this is not a bash Tommy or bash anyone thread, this is simply an attempt to point out that the moment that Coach Kelly and we have all been waiting for where Everett grew into the job, and made it clear that the gap in experience does not exceed the gap in natural ability, IMO happened today. For those in charge of monitoring the thread count, I am sorry, I thought I witnessed the moment today.

well to be honest i thought Everett proved that to everyone last week and that moment took place against Oklahoma.

If you believe this then you must be perplexed at why Coach Kelly pulled him when he wasn't hurt TODAY.

I was a little confused because good or bad, EG gives the team the best option to win. Rather get upset at BK though, I waited until the presser to understand why he did it and he was right. Then listen to EG and it registered with him too.

I hope I didn't give the impression that I was upset at CBK, I simply stated the point that it became clear to me that today, unless EG is hurt, he gives us the best chance to win regardless of game circumstance. I think the gap between lack of experience and athletic ability is now small enough or even tilts in EG's favor regardless of the situation. Good for him and good for us.

Apparently Coach Kelly agreed: ""No, I think that's a good question. I think we're getting close to playing through it because of what he did in the second half. I don't think we could have done that earlier in the year, quite frankly."-in response to the question of whether we were nearing a point where you let Golson play through tough spots.
