I just hate to hear about anything bad happening to our friend Urban Meyer, but it seems that fresh off losing his scholarship to LSU, and committing to Alabama, that DT recruit Luther Davis has decided to be Nick Saban's new recruiting coach, and possibly Urban Meyer's newest antagonist. Luther's latest target is his best friend Ahmad Paige. Paige is a Top 100 WR who originally committed to FSU, but has since withdrawn the commitment. Since then most of the experts have predicted that Paige would end up with Meyer because for all of his great recruiting skill, Urban has not only yet to snare a Top 100 WR, he does not even have a 4 star recruit at that slot (his only WR recruit is a 3 star). Does Luther really have a shot at turning his best friend from the Gators to the Crimson Tide? Well apparently he does because Paige is scheduled to visit Alabama on February 2nd and Luther Davis will make an unofficial return to campus to accompany his best friend.
Here is the headline from the Scouts, Inc. Briefing Room:
Ahmad Paige following Luther Davis to 'Bama?
Paige is scheduled to visit Alabama on February 2nd and Luther Davis will make an unofficial return to campus to accompany his best friend. Davis told the Press-Register, "We always talked about playing together in college."
When asked about Paige's chances of committing to the Tide Davis responded, "Real good because I'm coming."
First Sidell Corley de-commits Florida, most likely for the Crimson Tide, now a recruit who would fill a critical need for the Gators and was considered by some to be a Gator lock, may also be headed to the Tide. A nice nasty war is starting to brew between Meyer and Saban. Maybe Urban’s recent behavior is starting to turn his karma in a bad direction.
