Does anyone start off with a tougher schedule?

Looking at several other schedules of major players in college football, does anyone have a tougher first four games? I personally don't think anyone does and I'm a bit worried about the ability to run off four straight wins to start the season.

S 02 @ Georgia Tech
S 09 PENN STATE
S 16 MICHIGAN
S 23 @ Michigan St.

What does everyone else think?

Hate to defend Ohio State but thierfirst 5 is pretty tough, though I wouldn't call it harder.

9/2 Northern Illinois
9/9 at Texas
9/16 Cincinnati
9/23 Penn State
9/30 Iowa

Troy Trojans ( for them this is tuff and the road games would probably cause problems for a few other major schools.)
1. Ala st.
2. @ Fla st.
3. @ G Tech
4. @ Alabama
5. @ UAB

I said major contender. Of course low D-I schools are going to have tough opening schedules. That is generally when they play money games that fund their program.

I think the Irish have the tuff schedule locked up...thats if those first four teams amount to what they are suppose to be. Michigan really worries me though.

Sorry guys those other schools don't come close to what we have to deal with...there is no way we will not be ranked #1 when we are 4/0 to start season...then it is a matter of maintaining...for some reason I am not worried at all about sc.

As much as I hate to say it, tO$U might have the toughest

Sat, Sep 9 at (1) Texas
Sat, Sep 16 Cincinnati
Sat, Sep 23 (3) Penn State
Sat, Sep 30 at Iowa
(end of season rankings)

second at Texas that is going to be a huge game for the NC chase.

after them I might go with Penn St. (second at ND). Dont get me wrong ND has a tough 5 games and cant look past any of them but when you open on the road against a top 5 team thats is beyond tough.

I really don't see the reason to worry about G- Tech and Penn St, personally I don't think either team will compete with ND. The Michigan schools scare me, then it kind of looks like smooth sailing to USC. But who knows? I think the biggest game for the NC picture early in the year is obviously OSU at Texas. If Texas wins that game and beat Oklahoma they are unbeaten, easy.

It's college football at anytime anyone can play great so there is no "smooth sailing" until USC. How many upsets happen in the first 2 or 3 games of the season...look at Oklahoma last year. You can't over look anyone, every game must be played all out for all four quarters.

They don't open at Texas. They have Northern Illinois at home week 1.
