According to IE it seems like Luke Schmidt may be making he choice by this Friday the 27th. Queens, I know you know something about this, help us all out.

It is almost certainly between us and Purwho. I know one of his coaches and he said Luke likes us a lot, however Purdue continues to stay in the argument and it would not surprise me if he chose the dark side. We will see this week!

Why would he go to a passing offense like that? I could see him as the Fullback at ND plowing away for Aldridge. Awesome.

Luke will be deciding Friday at 1:30 pm between Purdue, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Louisville and Indiana. Purdue and ND are the favorites. He wants to go to a school where he'll get alot of carries, and he's picked the team that has promised him that.

Right now it's hard to say who he'll choose. No one seems to know. He was very impressed with all the carries that RPN got at the blue and gold game, but ND has already brought in two backs this class, so that would limit the carries he gets.

He'd be the main guy in the Purdue backfield, but thats a passing offense. When's the last time Purdue had a major RB/FB? When's the last time anyone rushed for a 1000 yards?

He has made up his mind, so we'll know on Friday. I like ND's chances even with Prince and Aldridge, ND just has so much momentum right now....

I hear CW is going to a pro-set split-back formation using RPN as a second tailback, the idea being, that RPN is quick enough to hit the holes when running the ball and big enough to pick up the blitz if called upon. This formation should increase the number of running plays in addition to throwing swing passes to the TB's.

Didn't CW promise Schmidt that he would use him at tailback? It makes it much easier if there are two TB's in the backfield and would explain why CW is looking to recruit so many TB's..

He will get carries at tailback. It was discussed anyway.

I envision ND's offense under Weis being like that of New England....everything but the kitchen sink. These defenses won't know what hit them.

They did rush for over 200 yards/game a couple years ago.

Bettis....Zellars....Edwards....

Another great fullback at ND would be nice.

Checked RPN's carries last season. Pretty low.

But with a new sheriff in town (CW), the offense will be much different.
