wow!! maybe that's what this press conference is about tomorrow. Not sure if this is the best move for Walker, but maybe he sees the writing on the wall with playing time next year with Aldrige in the picture.

I think he will land somewhere. Nfl teams always need dependable backs. He does get hurt much.not going to start or anything but I thin he finds a team that will take him late in the rounds.

I'm amazed his parents would let him, after all, they did move to SB just to be near him. Weird.

I wonder if he felt pressured at all because of all the RB recruits we have on our roster.

This sucks...I'm a fan of D Walk. I wish him the best.

His loss will be felt on the offensive side on ball. We will have a new QB, a young o-line, and RB that are inexperienced at pass protection on the college level.

I see him like a Becton or Denson. Neither of them did squat in the NFL either, hope he does better, for his sake.

I wish people would keep their opinions about his chances in the NFL to themselves, just thank him for his services and wish him luck.

He seemed plenty fast going on the outside on the top SEC defense. Emmit Smith was pretty slow for a RB, but look where he ended up.

Emmitt Smith was also drafted in the first round. Darius will be lucky to get drafted.

And people saying this will hurt the team next year are incorrect, IMO. Aldridge and Allen, and some mix of the others (anything but a return to Travis Thomas, really) will out-produce Walker, make the running game better than it was, be bigger threats to break a run at any time, and will get valuable experience.

I think Darius saw all the RB recruits, Aldridge, as well as that his entire group was graduating, and he'd be the only guy on offense holding back the youth movement. So he went. Tough for him, but it'll be good for the team.

The article doesn't specifically limit the presser to Darius: "...and other issues with the football team..."

Perhaps this is one item on the docket.

Still, sorry to see a solid competitor go! Good luck #3! You got nothing but better with each season!

travis thomas knows pass protection, in fact hes better than dwalk at it.

WNDU said he is "considering" leaving early, nothing definite. Weird.

I wou;dn't say this is confirmed yet. I would be extremely surprised, to say the least.

If he does go, my thanks for an absolutely outstanding career. He really is/was an outstanding running back for us, and a great team leader. We wouldn't have won the GT game this year, or the Stanford game last year, if it wasn't for him.

If he doesn't go, KICK SOME ASS NEXT YEAR!

The article (link) seems to suggest that he may just put his name in and not hire an agent ...

I think this is a good idea for him, I don't see him rushing for a 1000yds + next year because of the competition(not to mention a new young oline) we'll have at that position so his stock would probably be higher right now than it would be next year.

Best of luck to him, but if he goes we'll still be in good shape at that position IMO

Because he's Travis Thomas, the team will be young and not a title contender, and Armando Allen, James Aldridge and Co. are on the roster.

That's a good point. If anything, his stock will drop next year, not go up. If there is a time to go, this is probably it.

LOL at the idea that Aldridge was going to beat him out....You D_Walker haters amaze me...

He wouldn't be going pro if the pro scouts weren't interested in him....His draft status won't improve with a Young inexperienced offensive line next year...

And Aldridge won't beat out Travis Thomas......why do you think they were moving Thomas back to RB....

WNDU stated one scout said he hadn't even thought about DW coming out or where he would get drafted. I think the Travis Thomas LB experiment failed, so he'd be back at TB either way.
