has anyone heard much about Gary Gray and what type of player he is? i think Walls improved tremendously this past year and i look forward to seeing him play with guys like Gray next year along with Robert Blanton. Also, Jamoris looks pretty tough as well, even though he is more of the safety type. it'll be interesting to see if we def have speed coming in at LB too? kids seem to get slower when they arrive in south bend vs high school. i don't know what that's about but i've seen it over and over for years.

Gary Gray will be a lockdown corner within 2 years. I was impressed everytime I saw his film or the AA game.

i cant wait till we have shutdown corners that opposing quarterbacks are afraid to throw to. It will be fun to see an exciting ND defense.

Thant's exactly correct. He is probably the best pure cornerback on our roster. Blazing fast with great lateral movement. He was a 5* in the early Rivals rankings for the 07 recruiting class, but fell to 4* by the end of the season.

I wouldn't say Gary Gray is blazing fast, but he has good closing speed and awareness. Reporters mentioned his quickness in drills and most noticibly his footwork. If he developed like he should've with the year off, he should end up being our second best conerback behind Darin Walls. Gray was very thin as a freshman, I really hope he has bulked up because he will definately be a force if so.

Let me add, probably the most aggresive DB we have.

McNeil will be starting opposite Walls next year. With Lambert as the primary nickel

McNeil will see be seeing a lot of field. I don't want to bash Lambert, but outside of the MSU game in 06, he really hasn't' done much but get super exposed, which isn't good unless your Janet Jackson during the halftime show at the Super Bowl

Fair analysis... GG is very good, extremely good footwork and likes laying that hat. Should be pretty exciting how the whole defensive side shakes out...BG Game BABY!

I think McNeil is a good cornerback, I think he kinda got lost in the shuffle because he hasn't developed at the same speed as Darin Walls who came in with him, but he's still young and has time to develop. At this moment I haven't seen anything that wows me but he does have good size and he's a physical corner. I honestly think if anyone is going to take the starting spot from Lambert, it would be Gray. He's that good and has that type of ability.

Now this is the kind of stuff that is fun to discuss. Alot of young guys and trying to figure out who starts and all. Like was posted by Irishtat it's going to be exciting to see what happens in the Blue-Gold game this spring.
