I don"t know if anyone else has seen it, but over at NDN they have a video clip of Coach Kelly. He is asked about conference championships. He says they are nice, but I am going for National championships and to return to the elite of college football. I really love this guy. I have had a lot of his cool aid already!

i've noticed over the last few years the gradual evolution of college football into a series of companies with the head coach being the CEO. guys like urban and saban seem like the stereotypical CEO types. its all about selling the program to recruits and motivating the team to excel. reminds me of my time working in the tech start up industry. charlie just didn't fit that mold. kelly is nailing it so far. hopefully it carries on to the field.

No evolution. The head coach is the CEO. I have personally met and watched film with Saban as he spoke at a coach's clinic. The guy is intense and incredible. Highly likable. He was my choice as replacement for Holtz, Davie, TW, CW. But I was told repeatedly by many smarter than me that he would never come to ND. (He is surprisingly small in stature).

I guess if you don't love ND, then stay away. That's why I was a diehard CW fan, win or lose. He is an ND son.

I loved both CW and Jerry Faust (and still think he is one one the world's best fans for ND); unfortunately, they couldn't coach college football.

About Mr. Saban:
He got a bad taste in his mouth about ND, because Lou's teams stomped them, and stomped them, and stomped them, etc.
When he gets to South Bend his blood pressure goes through the roof, his colon goes into spasm, and his cremasteric reflux clamps down (actually up).
He doesn't appear to be committed to any program; as soon as the grass in a shade greener, he jumps. (Mich St, LSU, Miami. )
We didn't need him, and I hope want him.
Go Irish!

Well, like I said, many smarter than me. Most ND fans I know don't want him either, but I thought he was impressive. For whatever that is worth...

It's Gerry Faust...

and idk... I think that whole 2 BCS titles thing may take away that memory of losing to ND YEARS AGO
