Head football coach at ND is such a unique job that it's hard to extrapolate how any coach, no matter how successful at the pro or collegiate level, would perform once in South Bend. But any way you look at it he is definitely, and for many reasons, an interesting candidate should that position ever be available.

Same story different season and different coaches choice.. I remember last year people calling for Weis head for Skip Holtz. How's Skip doing? I don't buy fire this or that coach for the hot flavor coach this season..

To be fair, Skip is still doing pretty well. They're only 5-4 but 4-1 in their conference. They lost an awful game to SMU, but besides that their other 3 losses are to WVU, VA Tech, and UNC. Holtz always has them schedule tough ones out of conferences, and he's done a great job of getting them to re-load after losing Chris Johnson which is something that smaller schools struggle with (Memphis with DeAngelo Williams, Tulane with Matt Forte, UCF with Kevin Smith, etc.) I would honestly take Skip over Kelly, but that's just me.
