Just back from the game and the wife is sick of hearing me bitch........
shh....consensus is, everytings gonn be alright. first game jitters and alla that.Just back from the game and the wife is sick of hearing me bitch........
I've claimed neither...apparently criticism of poor play that even Stevie Wonder could see isn't really welcome. Of all the games I don't want to see ND lose this year, next week is it. And nothing I saw today gives me any hope that we'll see a completely different team after a week of practice. I said in another thread that I had no delusions coming into the season. I'm not disappointed with the loss...I'm disappointed with how they lost. Poor fundamentals & sloppy play is not what I expected at all. I wouldn't care if that idiot Mark May's predictions came 100% true as long as I saw a team that was competitive.
I guess we'll see what kind of genius CW really is next week. Hopefully we're alot happier this time next week. And at that, if I see a hard fought loss, I won't be nearly as bummed. That said, if I see our secondary get torched, you can bet I'll complain about it.
I was only pointing out what was obvious (at least to me).Yes it is, it just matters how you do it.
I agree with you on both points...I don't know how many times I can say that it's not that they lost, but how that bothers me. I knew today was a crapshoot but I didn't think they'd get blown out and sadly, outclassed.I'm really bumed as well, and I figured even if ND lost it would be much closer than it was...Playing a team like GT was about the worst kind of oppenent ND could have with such an inexperienced offense.
Did ya read the gameday thread during the game...I realize everything you said and more or less noted the same things. When they were fresh, the d was pretty decent.I saw some things I liked on D, but when you're on the feild all day and are constanly put in a tight spot because of feild posistion you are eventually going to tire and give up some points.
