Lewis told Rivals he's down to USC, Notre Dame and Georgia.

Notre Dame told him they have to wait to see how their remaining scholarships go to see if they'll have a spot for him. He said he should hear soon and then he'll make his decision.

He hopes to have his decision made in a couple of weeks, if not sooner.

Does this mean someone McCoy and/or McCoy was given a deadline? "he should hear soon" and wanting to decide in a couple of weeks could mean ND could know soon on one or both of these guys.

Butch Lewis sounds like he wants in.

Some reports indicate that McCoy verballed to Haywood either shortly before or during Haywood's home visit a few weeks ago.

It is starting to sound like ND is waiting on Young and McCoy to go public. Austin, Lewis, Moore, Kates and possibly Mustain are waiting to see what happens.

McCoy would be the crown jewel of this class. If we were to lose him, I'd be more than happy with Lewis.

I'd be thrilled if McCoy and/or Sam Young came to ND (and in Sam Young's case, I think he will), but these guys are just being severe pains in the ass. They know where they want to go, they just want to play the recruiting game for a longer time.

I know it's a big decision. But they should know where they are headed by now. They've had scholarships for a much longer period of time than the average high school kid. So a shortage of time with which to consider their options is no excuse.

Make your fucking pick!

A sense anger in you, young Jedi.

Young didn't take any official visits during the season. McCoy is going to announce in front of everyone on Signing Day. And Weis has strategically coordinated with each kid when to announce.

It's all good. ND has them both.

Maybe you should take it easy fella. Wooooooosa....Wooooooosa
I think ND has them both. Announce later, more publicity. It helps kick off the next recruiting season, which will be even better.

Well, hopefully LaRon Moore was told today that there wasn't a scholarship available (because of a silent verbal) and that's why he committed to Texas Tech.

Does anyone think that the outcome of the Fiesta bowl will have any influence on the remaining recruits?

Only if ND is blown out, which would obviously have a negative impact. Or if ND just merely wins, it will have the opposite effect.

Even if the former happens, I think McCoy and Young would still have confidence in where the program is headed... so really, the outcome has only a menial effect on the class of 2006. But, like someone said, it will have a tremendous impact on the next class, what with this being the most exciting matchup of all the bowl games (including Texas-USC in the championship)--everyone will be watching.

I think a good showing won't affect the current recruits, but it could affect recruiting down the line. I believe we'll be going head to head against Ohio St. in a few cases for the 07 class. Beating them on the field can only help.
