Bruton?

Does anyone know anything about Dave Bruton? He's a Safety out of Ohio. Scout.com has an article about him saying he commited way back in the summer, & that he didn't even waver after the Willingham firing. But under the recruits page, he's not listed as a lock for the Irish & it says his interest level in the school is only medium. What gives? Is he coming to South Bend or not? I really hope he is b/c it looks like he could make a solid Free Safety, & the Irish certainly need the secondary help.

Also, I was glad to see that fullback Schwapp out of Conn. is still committed. That was a big find in the summer, & I think a lot of schools are realizing what they missed out on now in not recruiting him earlier. I know FB is not exactly a glorious position, but this kid looks like a beast who can really open up some huge holes for Walker once he gets in an Irish uniform.

As of now, he's in until anyone hears otherwise. Wisconsin is in the mix, but his conversation with Charlie Weis went very well. There's always a chance, but this one looks pretty good.

He's remained a solid commit, but he has given Wisconsin some interest. But from everything I've read his talk with coach Weis went real well, he liked everything Weis had said. He said he felt reasurred. He asked Weis if he wanted him to play linebacker, but Weis told him he wanted him a safty, which pleased Bruton very much. I guess maybe Wisconsin was considering he play linebacker. He'd need to gain around 40 to 50 pounds for that though, seems kinda silly for wisconsin to suggest that.

I wouldn't say he's a lock, but I'm very confident he'll stay with the Irish.

Yup he's coming to ND. Blue & Gold said after Ty was fired, he took a trip to Wisconsin ,but after talking to Charlie he recommitted to ND. He's a nice player and from everything I read, he's an all around good kid. He'll be a nice fit in our defensive backfield.
