That would actually be very good for Brady.

and IMO for all Eagle fans. As much as the media likes to portray Brady as a pretty boy, his on field demeanor has always been hard working blue collar, and that plays really well in Philadelphia.

I've never been a huge Donovan McNabb fan. I've always thought he had poor footwork to his trowing motion, which caused his accuracy to be inconsistant.

wow. that's interesting. well, I'd rather him end up there than Oakland or Cleveland. It would be good for both sides. But I'll believe it when it actually happens.

I agree on the passing aspect GG, but I was Philadelphia born and bred, and Donovan has done a lot for the Eagles, and is a high character guy. That being said, of course I am also an Eagles fan and McNabb's season ending injuries are a major concern. In a lot of ways this rumor might have some legs to it because it does make sense in a couple of ways. McNab is a better fit in Detroit's Mike Martz scheme because he is a mad bomber, and his accuracy in the short game and slants has never been as good as it needs to be in a West Coast offense like the Eagles. Quinn is actually a better fit for the Eagles than the Lions for the same reason, he has proven that he is highly accurate in a West Coast type scheme, but still has the arm strength to go long. Plus with the Eagles, Quinn would be able to backup Garcia, who except for a couple of bad breaks at New Orleans might be playing in Miami this Sunday. He would also have a great mentor in Marty Mornhinweg provided Marty does not make the mistake of trying to be a Head Coach again. There also must be some juice to it because I just noticed that McNabb actually responded to the rumors, saying that he wants to stay with the Eagles. In any case, if there is any possibility of it happening, I don't see it until Draft Day, because if it happens before that, and Al Davis unexpectedly picks Quinn, then the Eagles would end up with Russell, a guy who definitely does not fit in the Eagles system.

well, McNabb wants to stay in Philly and says the rumors are false:

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6429224?MSNHPHMA

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Donovan McNabb doesn't want to leave Philadelphia, isn't jealous over the success Jeff Garcia had replacing him as Eagles quarterback, and wasn't muzzled by coach Andy Reid.

"The so-called rumors that have started, they're false," McNabb said. "I'm a Philadelphia Eagle and will continue to be a Philadelphia Eagle, hopefully, for more years to come, and hopefully will retire as an Eagle."
With that, McNabb began a 4-minute speech Wednesday at the Super Bowl media center, where he was appearing at a news conference where Campbell's Soup announced it was donating 1 million cans to food banks nationwide. It was his first time speaking at length with reporters since tearing a knee ligament Nov. 19 and, as expected, McNabb had plenty to say.

"It's unfortunate we have to sit here now to discuss this," McNabb said.

McNabb's season-ending injury came in Week 11 against Tennessee. Before getting hurt, he was among the NFL's leaders in yards passing (2,647), touchdown passes (18) and passer rating (95.5).

With McNabb as a starter, the Eagles were 5-5. With Garcia under center, they were 6-2 and won the NFC East title.

"I was actually very happy for Jeff," McNabb said. "I know the fans of Philadelphia wanted A.J. Feeley and cheered for him, but I told Jeff he was brought in here to lead this team."

But while McNabb's season was over, the hubbub surrounding him was anything but.

One report in mid-January, citing unidentified sources close to McNabb, said the five-time Pro Bowl quarterback was upset Reid wouldn't allow him to travel with the team to the playoff game at New Orleans. Reid doesn't allow players on injured reserve to travel, and McNabb acknowledged that he was upset — but only because he and other injured Eagles couldn't help their team.

McNabb, who has led the Eagles to four NFC championship games and a Super Bowl loss, also denied reports he was angry with how fans and players embraced Garcia's success; the perception that his mother didn't enjoy seeing the Eagles win without him; and the notion that Reid canceled a Jan. 19 news conference simply to keep him quiet.

"We both felt nothing good would have come out of it," McNabb said.

He also said the rehabilitation on his knee is going well and according to plan, and expects to be on the field when the Eagles open the 2007 season.

"It feels that it's getting stronger," McNabb said. "I'm able to do a lot of different things. I'm running in the water and feeling strong in the water. But it's a difference between running on land, obviously, and running in water."

It would be best for Brady if he could take a year of observation with Jeff Garcia at the helm and then step in. There is two things that can kill a quality QB coming into the NFL in your first year. Playing for a crap team with huge unreasonable fan expectations. Playing backup to J Garcia for a year or two on a quality team is the absolute best thing for BQ. Imagine him being thrown to Raider nation or the Dawg Pound expected to turn the team around. It wil not happen BQ is not a magic pill. For Irish fans Philly is the best cituation seeing as how the media will only portray BQ as "the over hyped Notre Dame qb" if he loses, and he will, as a Raider,Buc or Brown etc. .
