I HATE field goals. ND does not have a good kicking team. Period. A TD puts them up two scores. Instead, they missed the damn thing. Quinn had Schwapp WIDE OPEN and over shot him. To me, that was the game. A TD would have been a ten point lead.

USC didn't beat ND. ND beat ND. We had our chances to put it away and we missed. As far as the missed penalty, thats nothing new. Never have I seen that called. It happens all the time on short yardage plays.

The game isn't won or lost in the final seconds - as stated above, we had many opportunities to seal a victory but we didn't capitalize. Instead we allowed SC to put themselves in a position to win. 60 yards on the 4th and 9.....come on. Big plays killed us.

On a positive note.....we hung with the #1 team in the nation. We're Back.

The one thing I noticed on the part of both teams was poor secondary play and stupid penalties.

USC is beatable, make no mistake about it. They're very fast. They close the gaps quickly. Team speed is an area that ND lacks and will need to recruit on, which they have. Still, I think a good offense and an athletic defense can beat these guys.

But you have to stop Bush. They did well with White and Leinart, but Bush killed them. He wins the Heisman hands down and goes pro.

God I hope so...please, someone tell Reggie Bush to get the hell out of college football...& thank God Twinkle Toes over there doesn't have any more eligibility, I'm sick of seeing him on ESPN too...
