As Weird As It Is...

to be saying this after a loss, I'm starting to get a tingling anticipation for that final regular season game.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not gonna come in here and predict a win over U$C, but with the immense improvement I'm seeing from our boys each week, along with the Trojans looking much less dominant than all the media who drool at their feet predicted, I believe that game is shaping up to be a decent contest.

The only passion I have in sports that comes anywhere near my love for the Irish is my hatred for F*%king U$C!

If our boys continue on the path they've been on all season - and, of course, they can cut down on the mistakes - nobody will make me believe we don't have a shot on that final weekend.

I'm not opposed, Curtis, but neither am I fully behind ya on this one. The defense has to improve by light years, for the Irish to have a chance to upset USC. I just don't see the playmakers, in the front seven, to hang with a great offense like USC's. That's not to say that the front seven never make plays. But there is no "presence" there, ala Chris Zorich, to free up other very good athletes on the D to make plays. Pat Kuntz looks like he may end up being All American worthy, but not this year.

well kuntz is a senior, so if he isnt an all american this year, he never will be.

but i get what curtis is saying. believe me i am not picking an upset here, but if we keep improving, i think we can go out there and scare the shit out of usc.

that being said, i think we have the type of team that can beat anyone, but also probably lose to anyone, so we cannot look past anybody.

Laser-like focus on Washington for me from this point until the game (Unless I get suckered into another Floyd-Clausen leaving early debate!!! ) For the players, they need 2 great weeks of learning, 2 great weeks of intensity, 2 great weeks of focus and HUNGER. Their only focus (focii???) should be Washington and improvement...

Kmoose, I don't disagree with that at all. I don't think we'll be able to shut down USC's offense, but what I'm hoping for is the same, continued improvement on offense, so we can put a good, old fashioned shoot-out scare into the dastardly Trojans.

Even one turnover against U$C is WAY TOO MANY! If the Irish have a chance to even make it a game at U$C, they have to play mistake free football. Otherwise, lights and the party is over!!
