Another QB?

My speculation, no news here; But with Cutcliffe, Haywood, and Weis on board, there is still a top-5 QB available and I would think they could be able to lure him in. He gave a 'soft verbal' to Texas and was also looking at LSU. Could we land this guy?

from what i've heard, he is pretty solid on UT...and guys like him expect to play next year...so i doubt he would give any consideration to us

Just checked him out on Rivals.com.

It would be nice to get a guy like that in the program...but LSU would be nuts to let him slip away. Also, unless he has family ties, why would he want to goto Texas? He'd be sitting behind Vince Young for the next two years. And unless Texas can beat Oklahoma, they have no shot at the National Championship. I think right now LSU gives him the better chance to win, but he would look good in South bend.

Agreed...i don't see anyway a guy with this much hype comes to any program just to sit for 1 or maybe even 2 years...he wants to go somewhere where he can definently play if not start next year.

Lyght...i must say, i have been on here for only an hour, and you have already changed your pic 3 times..what's up bro, are you trying to so us your good side...

Exactly. If this kid is as good as advertised, LSU could be a contender again in 2 years.

:)...Naw, just had bad karma coming from the TyWillie/BC game pic. So I had to go with my boy LaPhonso instead. Took me a minute to find the best pic of him.

I don't think QB is a position that anyone should be worrying about too much anyway. Brady's here for another 2 years, and Evan Sharpley looks pretty good. 2 years of preparation under Weis and Cutcliffe before he gets a chance to start should turn him into a pretty decent QB. Besides, I'm kind of loyal to him as the future at QB anyway b/c he was man enough to stick w/ ND all through the Willingham firing and never even waivered.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. ;)

Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing Bragg switch to reciever. His brother's not as big as Craig, but he put up decent numbers at UCLA (almost 500 yards recieving this year).

Knowing that the best receivers are often converted quarterbacks, a part of me almost wants to recruit guys like Bragg every year, see if they pan out, and then convert them to Split End style posession receivers if they don't. Wide Outs should still be recruited as receivers, but every school in the nation seems to have a converted qb in their receivers corps.

On a tagent: Holiday's potential here was likely wasted.

Yeah, I always think that a coach should take a risk on some "athletes", regardless of position. That's how you find players like Woody Dantzler, Seneca Wallace, & Reggie Bush.

And yes, Carlyle (and Carlos campbell) were wasted during their time here. A big part of that is because the offense changed, but you have to find a place on the field for playmakers like that.

With Haywood on board Perlox might consider ND. As for Bragg he was a fill in recruit last year. Cahrlie will find spot for him, he has a nack for doing those type of things.
