Great news!!! ND allowing kids to enroll early probably put us over the top. Aldridge has said he wants to enroll early.

Every stud recruit out there, is now going to notice ND. This kid is a huge get. ND now has a ton of momentum, much like the momentum Nebraska had in recruiting last year. I now truely believe we'll land a top 5 class. The 6 kids we now already have committed can go out and help recruit.

Queens you are exactly right, I think with Aldridge committed to us, it will only pave the way for other big prospects. This is so freakin great. I havent been this excited about the future of ND in years.

This is Charlie's best recruit to date. Considering he already had a commitment from Prince it makes this even more impressive. Does Prince profile as a DB? Keep the blue chippers comin' Charlie.

I don't follow this recruiting stuff via the paysites, but there has been talk of Aldridge as a linebacker; however, it seems we want him as a running back. USC was apparently recruiting Aldridge as a running back too.

Lemming said Prince projects as a dback, but I think Weis wants taller guys than Prince to play corner, as Raeshon McNeil, Taylor Mays, Darrin Walls, and Myrone Rolle are all over 6' and appear to be the top targets. Strozier is 6' too if/when we offer him.

Prince is certainly fast enough to be whatever they want him to be. There is no disputing his speed. QueensNY probably has the scoop.

Aldrige is all runningback I was able to see video of him and he is the real deal.He just punishes people and has a 4.5 40.He will be in the top one hundred. The big sticking point for him was early playing time.I think weis just pointed to the draft and showed him how two backs on the same team got drafted and the running back who started for 3 years was questioned about his durabilty. This will be huge and will snowball into a top five class.Walker might have to look over his shoulder :boxing:

Taylor Mays has no favorite yet, but has said ND will be in his top 5 for sure, Weis does plan on visiting him soon. Walls favors ND and Michigan, he likes ND because of the possibility of early playing time.

Strozier favors us. Strozier didn't get to attend the Blue and Gold game, but said he would like to camp at ND over the summer. Weis and staff like to offer alot of these kids in person.

We need to land some offensive linemen this year, one guy that sticks out and seems to like ND is Chris Stewart(16 offers so far) here's a quote from him
"I grew up a Notre Dame fan even when I lived in Mississippi. The possibility to play for them, well, you have to take that very seriously. They are on the rise, and I think they are about to win really big. Another real attractive thing for me is the fact that our incoming class would be the building block for their program. I really like that."

Aldridge has said in the past he doesn't care if he plays RB or LB. It doesn't bother him that ND has recruited two potential runningbacks, he said he wouldn't want to be the only running back and have to carry the whole load in college(also said early playing time is important), he wants to be fresh for the NFL, so sharing the ball with walker or prince doesn't bother him....

really Prince at DB? interesting. Aldridge should stay at RB. Is Rolle pretty much out of the running for ND?

Prince and Aldridge are buddies...this is a huge signing.

I thought Aldridge was going to Ok St, so anything can happen with Rolle.

Not sure if this has been discussed previously but it is rumored that Aldridge will atttend ND staring 2nd semester 2006 which will make him available for spring football next year and a fast start for 2007.

He would be the first early attend student athlete at ND.

It has to start with someone! why not the best RB in the recruiting class of 2006.

He got on the phone with Demetrius Jones and was selling him. Frazer's verbal might steer Jones to Illinois, but he's liking Notre Dame way too much.

Hopefully, the new early admission process will appeal to Rolle. I have previously inferred that was a strong reason he didn't list ND in his top 5. We know that Charlie is on the recruiting trail for all of May. I would assume that he will visit Rolle at the Hun School. Remember, even though CW didn't recuit him, Junior Jabbie is also from Hun. After quiet FR fall, Jabbie has been getting strong looks from CW's regime this spring.

When CW shows Rolle the depth chart that would be in place for 2006, it should excite him. Especially if Rolle were to gain early entrance, as well. I know I have said this this before, but Rolle would be a perfect ND kid!!

Any hot shot defenisve back MUST look at ND and realize that they'll have a chance to play right away. They are very thin back there.

The kid I'm still hoping for is Darrin Walls. 6'1" and a 4.4 40, the kid can play corner. Not to mention getting him would take the remaining sting away from Harrison going to Michigan, since the Wolverines are also in this top 5 list.

Steve Brown has reportedly received offers from ND and Michigan recently. This kid looks like a stud, and I really like our chances to land him. ND is recruiting him to play safety, Michigan is recruiting him to play corner, the kid has a legit 4.39 laser finish 40 time.

Ton of talent in the state of Indiana this year....

I read Weis make a very interesting point about plugging guys into spots, in terms of depth charts. Because of the lack of depth, guards may have to play tackle, corners may have to play safety and so on. Powers-Neal may actually line up at tailback at times this season.

Versatility could be a huge selling point in recruiting if that is their philosophy.

As long as they don't go to Purdue or especially Michigan, I'd be very content.

Clearly, this junior class that will be seniors next year might be one of Indiana's best in a long time.
