There is a rumor on the Rivals board about Aldridge currently in poor academic standing. While this is a RUMOR and HAS NOT been confirmed, it does not bode well if true. Let's hope it is inaccurate.

End of discussion.

QueensNY said:I was hoping him being an early enrollee would help him in the long run academically. Weis is really on top of these guys making them attend 6am meetings when their grades aren't where they should be, so hopefully Weis is on top of this(if true) before any penalties are incurred
I am a little alarmed by this and I hope we are not opening up the floodgates...
polishdomer said:My understanding is that early enrollment requires a person to be academically strong vs. the general applicant pool (This is true for early decision students and I am inferring that the same holds true for early enrollees in football). I have first hand knowledge since I am part of the Alumni corps that visits HS in the Chicago area. I would be surprised if there are academic problems, but there can always be an exception to the rule. I also have been puzzled on ND (based on articles from those atheletes) that ND is waiting for their grades and they have a conditional offer. I am a little alarmed by this and I hope we are not opening up the floodgates...
I am not so sure that all these kids are "bad apples" in terms of grades I think once again it is we don't know the whole story and are just making a lot of assumptions.
