For the sake of geography and travel, wouldn’t this make sense:

- Cincinnati, UCF, and West Virginia from the Big 12 to the ACC.

- California, SMU and Stanford from the ACC to the Big 12.

Pitt renews its local rivalries with Cincinnati (the Riverboat Trophy) and West Virginia (the Backyard Brawl) and the furthest west ACC school becomes Notre Dame in Indiana. For the Big 12, the farthest east that any Big 12 school would travel to is Iowa State.

Geography makes sense, but it also doesn't matter anymore. It's all about value of brands, revenue and a little still about academic prestige

Maybe something like this could occur whenever the next shift happens, but the horses are long gone out of the barn at this point.

What makes sense geographically got thrown out the window a long time ago. My mind doesn't hear "Big Ten" when Maryland and Rutgers are mentioned. It took a long time to get used to Penn State. No idea how long it will take to get used to what we're going to see in 2024.
