A question regarding NCAA rules.

so i was on campus at a D-1 school. and my girlfriend who isn't very familiar with any NCAA rules and really isn't into sports too much at all. but she was talking about a guy that goes to her school and mentioned how he was poor but yet the coach bought the player a brand new car and all this other stuff. needless to say my eyes got pretty wide like "are you seriously telling me this" but she had no idea what the problem was and i mentioned it to her, and she was just like "oh i didn't know that" but correct me if i am wrong but isn't that a major violation. i will with hold the school for now, until i actually know the rule.

a college coach or a high school coach??

if it's a high school coach then the NCAA has no right to tell him who he can do what for

it's not a major university but it's U of North Texas. i think the student graduated but was just curious.

yeah, it's an alright university, but i just thought it was funny how they mentioned that like it was not a big deal i mean i am from south bend but am stationed in arkansas, so every once in awhile i visit UNT and i guess things just work different in the south, haha
