Father Solanus Casey is not only a well-deserving to-be-saint, but a lesson for all of us, individually and organizationally. Father Solanus was prejudged too pedestrian of mind to be given other than the most menial and limited of jobs by his local order. He took all of the rejection with utter humility and kindness, doing what he could to make people's lives and spirits better.

Solanus Casey was "just" a simple heart-filled Christian Gospel-of-Love servant. He took people as they were, and loved them with his prayers and words. People loved him back. There are all manner of persons both in the clergy and in regular life, who are uncomfortable with a priest such as that. Suspicious. Surely he must be doing something wrong to be so loving and supportive all the time.

Solanus Casey was a Gift from GOD. We all are such gifts, but most of us don't show it quite like Solanus Casey did. ... a "lesson" much needed in our rough old world of violence, ego, and judgmentalism.
