Has recently swapped follows with McNulty and Brown. We'll have to watch how quickly he gets thru ND during visit season.

Added a Wiscy offer yesterday.

Has also added: Minn, NW, Cincy, Tenn, MSU since bowl season.

On3 started him off at #4 TE & #108 Overall. Rivals put him at 3*/5.7. Still NR with 247.

This is the conference where Trevor Ruhland and Trevor Keegan both played. Pretty far NW burbs of Chicago.

Last month added Rutgers and Missouri. Last week started off May with Syracuse.

I like Stec and Bentancur if ND were going to take two TE in the 2024 class.

Parker at his school today. Is this kid better than who has been offered so far?

Could this be a 2 tight end class?

Didn’t we have a Stec once? My memory is hazy, Greg Stec lb or dl?
Greg Stec. Believe he was a center? Early 90s.

ND came in late around Christmas during his recruitment and pipped him from Northwestern.

I hope it is a two TE class and I hope he is a part of it. I live in this school district and it would be incredible to have a football player going to ND.

There are three HS in the district and one of them is sending a very good women's soccer player to ND in the fall. THAT is a big deal for our community, so imagine sending a tight end to Tight End U? Off the charts. The pride of the area is the Krutweg basketball kid at Loyola and he's in Sister Jean's shadow.

He's every bit of 6-6 from what I can tell.

Is it too late to go after him?

That's what my Tight End is supposed to sound like. Now I'm homesick and heading to Portillo's for a beef.

Total no brainer. Between not securing this stud and having issues w landing Scott…. At least they landed Cam Williams.

Wut? We already have a similarly rated TE recruit committed and are chasing two more pretty decent prospects.

maybe as a fallback option if Reddell or Nelson go elsewhere, but even then i wouldn't be convinced.

The Chicagoland prospect bias striking again methinks

Nah. Stec is as good as Larsen and Nelson regardless of where he lives. Reddell is the best of the lot for me. Wisconsin also has another TE verballed at present, and he pledged two days after Stec did in January, so being in a 2 TE recruiting class likely isn't an issue for Stec.

ND is going to develop tight ends. Really is that simple. These recruits will be able to know exactly what it looks like.

Stec is legit. He will be more highly rated than Larsen. I like Larsen but Stec has higher ceiling.

Anyone know if Stec camped for Irish invasion last year when Larsen played his way into being option #1 for the staff?
Pretty sure prieskorn and bettancourt were there and everyone agreed Larsen was the clear #1 that day.
Now obviously things change and these kids continue to grow and develop, but if Stec was there, he had the opportunity to show out.

Given NDs TE track record, it continues to boggle my mind why we aren't consistently landing a top 3 TE every year.
Literally no where else does as good a job sending players to the league.

They have done so across multiple HC, OC and schemes since the turn of the century.

Holloway, O'Leary, Owens, Collins, Fasano, Carlson, Rudolph, Eifert, Niklas, Koyack, Smythe, Mack, Kmet, Tremble, Mayer. Did I miss any?

Does that not imply that we are indeed taking a top TE every year?

Didn't know Preshkorn was there.....

I think if I was advising a recruit I would say go to ND Camp and play as well as you can but not come away with a Scholly and then your rankings will shoot up.... crazy.

No question they've done well and clearly the track record shows that. But there's another level to attain, and I'd wager that it'd take the offense to another level.

This isn't a knock on past or current TEs, the majority have been very good, some great. Some developed well past their ranking like tremble. But imagine where ND would be if we recruited a top 3 TE every year the way bama gets dlinemen, lsu reels in dbs, or georgia stacks rbs, lbs, oline, and every other position.

I really like Mitch Evans. But if you're telling me we could've seen Mayer and Brock Bowers together, I'd have taken it all day long. Matchup nightmares.

I realize the inexact science rankings argument but id argue the highly ranked prospect will pan out more often than the lower ranked one.

I don't think it's a stretch to attain that level of recruiting TEs like it is at some positions, which is why raised the point.

I believe Jamie U has stated he was there and agreed with the coaching staff that Larsen was the top performer.
