Notre Dame was the first major program to push for Matthews.

“I love how they have faith in me,” Matthews said. He’s also been to South Bend in the past. “How I was such a young player, they’ve always been here from day one. Another top program and all the coaches, we have a great relationship and I’m always on the phone with them.”
