That would essentially mean that ND landed 3 top 5 DTs in the portal this year.

Per On3, Brewu was 3 and Gray was 4.
In a sense we got more if you include Mukam who actually entered the portal. It's like getting 4 of the top 7 DT, a top 4-5 DE and 2 of the top 5 CBs.

Mukam wouldn’t haven’t been anywhere close and Onye IMO would have been in the high 3 star range in terms of rating.

Idk how much eligibility factors into the transfer ratings, but if we were getting Onye from the portal, with his PFF grades playing on a contender, i don't think he'd be viewed a full rung down from Gray/Brewu

He likely doesn’t get viewed as having an NFL future so that immediately bumps him out of that 4 star range. Playing well against BC, Stanford and Pitt - 3 abysmal OLs - is nice but I still don’t think Onye is like a game changer type player. Same as like Burnham for example who was the #21 edge by 247. Now you could argue the suitors may have been still big names for a veteran like Burnham going to IU or like a VanSumeren going to USC for example but I think it’s drinking a little bit of green kool aid on Onye to imagine him as like a Top 50 portal addition. Ideally he’s DT #4 - 5 this year.

Sorry but in what world are Mukam and Onye 2 of the top 7 portal DTs?
Onye certainly is and Mukam depending on the service could be ranked highly on potential much like a Rickey Gibson who is ranked as the #1 CB based strictly off his potential without any production of merit.

Gibson was the starting CB at Tennessee. Mukam played 69 (nice) snaps this year. What are we even talking about lol

Not smart enough to crush one tech versus 3 tech film but based off alignment, NT the last three years have been Rubio, Cross, Dawson and Hinish. That’s why combined with his strength, IMO Brewu will split time with Gray at NT, not Onye.
I saw Hughes split time between the two spots on his film last year, which would further enforce the short guy->NT trend

You must didn't watch them play?? He's played in 26 games and started less than half of them. Decent player but not #1 CB in the portal.
