“It’s pretty simple honestly, and it’s which school is going to develop me best to be able to play at the next level,” Karlaftis said. “I want to go to a good school academically, of course, that has the coaching and capability of taking me to the next level – the next level (meaning) the NFL.”

As of current, the 247Sports Crystal Ball has Ohio State with the lead, as there are two votes: one for the Buckeyes by national recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong, while the other is undecided at the moment.

But Karlaftis says that he’s not that far along in his process at the moment. Sure, OSU is among the schools he’s strongly considering, but Michigan and Purdue are right there, as well as a few others.

“I’m not really trying to favor any school or anything,” Karlaftis said. “Honestly, the schools I’ve really been talking to the most and keeping the closest contact lately has been, I’ve talked to Michigan, Ohio State and Purdue. Wisconsin and Boston College a little bit less, but still. I haven’t been in close contact with anyone else at the moment. Probably closet contact with the schools I just listed.”
