II pod confirmed Craig, Herron, and Terek all took reps at both OC/RG. Augustine reps at RG/RT.

My bold prediction is Williams is going to have us all forgetting about the loss of Love and Price very quick.
Disagree. Love is one of the greatest backs in Irish history and definitely the most gifted. Price was also very good indicative by him going 1st round just got less opportunities playing behind Love. Very difficult for a rb to drafted 1st rd and Love/Price both were. Williams is a baller and I love the kid but I don't think he has the natural physical attributes of Love nor Price.

I assume he will be good/solid, but is there any reason to believe he has the breakaway speed of Love/Price? Not doubting, just curious(well, kinda doubting).

Yeah I can't wait to see Williams fully unleashed in this offense. Let's not get carried away and create unrealistic expectations though. Love/Price was a generational RB combo.

Every year for my show I put out a preseason survey that I have people fill out to gauge expectations for the year- figured I would drop it here if anyone is interested while the start of fall camp has us buzzing

S3 Podcast Preseason 2026 ND Football Survey

(Apologies to the mods if this isn’t allowed I can delete it)

Unrealistic expectations?? Love/Price was definitely one of the best RB duos I've ever seen in college but it wasn't THE best. I'll say this, THE best RB duo I've ever seen was replaced the following year by a kid nobody really ever heard of and he produced better than both said backs before him...Not combined...Just individually.

I can see Williams doing the same thing, especially if he's not splitting time. I don't think he will put up Love #'s (1700 scrimmage and 21 TDs). But I can absolutely see him going for 1200-1300 from scrimmage and 15 TDs. I'll speak for myself and say....that production, without a doubt would have me not miss the loss of Love and Price.

I'm of the opinion that in a world where Love never set foot on campus, we would be discussing whether Price or Julius Jones were the best RB at ND in the 21st century.
Loved me some Julius Jones, but he doesn't hit the top 5 for me.

Kyren, Estime, Adams and Darius were all better.

PS....I was at the Pitt game when JJ went for almost 300 yards. His ST play was also incredible.

I think you spelled Jonas Gray wrong multiple times

Re: the defense. We're forgetting stuff again. Marcus came out after the second loss and said that the staff cost us. We, the staff, he said, were not intensely enough on the job. We, the staff, were letting things go in practice. Example specifically cited: DBs and LBs were not being challenged in detail with the characteristics (ex. speed on breaks) of specific opponents (Coach BKs famous "attention-to-detail" was not there on the defensive coaching side. Do we not remember how much we were griping about Ash?) Marcus said that he was (in kinder, but not much kinder, words) laying the hammer down on moment-by-moment attitudes in practice. Subtle comments came later as the season progressed about the team playing differently and the players liking the new way/schemes more.

Bottomline: it wasn't just the first two opponents who were different. We changed. I think that Freeman got on Ash and his crew about detail and intensity.
I still think there was somewhat of a mini coup against Ash by the position coaches. And then Freeman told them to get their shit together.

I loved Ricky Watters, J Bettis, Tony Brooks, Reggie brooks back in the day. We've had a lot of good running backs for sure.

Dude you literally said Williams will have us forgetting about the loss of Love/Price. That's crazy talk from where I'm sitting. Hence the "unrealistic expectations" I mentioned.

Well I'm sorry if we are sitting at 9-0 just coming off a big win against Miami. And Williams is sitting at 1k yards on the year, with 10 TDs....And you are all pitiful at home thinking "If we just had Love or Price"

That won't be me Homie

I agree he could have that type of season. It would not be a painful drop-off. It is still unbelievably clownish to say that type of performance will make us “forget” about Love & Price 😂

Touchdown Jesus I feel like I'm talking to one of my kids. Do you all think I meant erased from memory that we won't remember how special those guys were???

Let me spell it out for you.....

Usually when teams lose their all world player who could have won the Heisman, and the backup stud behind said player. It's painful and can be for a whole season or maybe two. My bold prediction was AW will have such a nice year on such a great team....WE WON'T MISS THE PRODUCTION OF LOVE OR PRICE.

The fuck is so hard to understand??

Maybe you're the only one smart enough to understand anything you say? I'm sure your kids love when you spell it out for them too.

The way you originally said it and initially defended it was silly. It’s NBD. We all want what you want.

Thank you. I like this place for the most part.
Awesome, than try to not be so combative. We've lost a ton of good people over the years that didn't want to deal with people like you....And IE has gone down because of it. I'm not sure why my prediction jacked you off so bad, but damn.

Also you can mute me, and I can mute you....but then it turns into a circle jerk.
