Sweet. Should be there, as it is the only way I can afford to get into the Temple of Rockne.

I shall be attending this game!

Not quite the same electricity in air as an actual game day, but it helps satisfy my craving for ND football in the off-season.

Plus, this will be Coach Kelly's first time taking the field as a coach (sort of).

I can't wait.

Weather channel says high of 60 with a 40% of rain. (scattered T-storms) I am planning on going, pending rain. My lack of faith in the 10 day forecast, and my gut instinct tells me.....67 and cloudy, no rain at game time.

It never rains at Notre Dame.....It's just our Lady getting emotional about another coming football campaign. ;)

I will be there. I went last year and it was mostly sunny and 74. Not gonna be that nice this year though I'm afraid. A lot cooler most likely, as long as it doesnt rain though. Either way I'm still going.

Now there's the kiss of death. No doubt about it. NDOM goes to the game; ND's gonna lose.

UND.com will be showing the 2010 Blue & Gold Game. UND will be using an over-the-field camera as part of the coverage. NBC has sent out a technical team to South Bend to evaluate the use of the over-the-field camera in their coverage for the 2010 season.

Sad commentary, NBC getting their innovation from ND.

Speaking of sad commentary, hopefully The Peacock will take notice of ND's Blue & Gold announcing team and replace their inferior broadcasting crew.

Thank God Und.com is streaming it live. Having to listen to it on the radio and then watch a few clips later on ESPN was piss poor for ND...

Kelly: Crist will play in Saturday's Blue-Gold Game

Irish quarterback Dayne Crist will play in Saturday's Blue-Gold Game, Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly told NewsCenter 16 Sports Director Jeff Jeffers in a 1-on-1 interview Tuesday afternoon.
Crist will continue to be 'protected' during the game---as he has been throughout spring practice. Crist had knee surgery in November to repair a torn ACL suffered in the Washington State game last Halloween.
He was not expected to be able to play in the spring game, but has progressed well enough according to Kelly.
In fact, every Irish player will be available for Saturday's game, the first since Kelly took over as head coach. That includes tight end Kyle Rudolph who has been recovering from shoulder surgery.
We'll have much more on Jeff's 1-on-1 conversations with Coach Kelly and Dayne Crist throughout the week, including Friday night at 7pm in our NewsCenter 16 Special, "The Kelly Era Begins."

Crist will take snaps but not be tackled by defenders to protect the knee.

Somebody light a candle.

Hey folks, question for ya. I am going to the Blue and Gold game this weekend; I heard that it is going to have a “game like” atmosphere. Does anyone know that they are talking about? I think I saw the comment being made on one of the practice clips over the weekend that’s posted on und.com. I did go last year so I kind of wanted to know what the difference was going to be. Other than being televised.
Thanks

Likely pretty similar in terms of parameters. Running clock, qb off limits (touch=sack), etc.... but under game conditions.

BlueandGold.com // Blue-Gold Game Blueprint

Crist will play every snap in the game for his team, according to Kelly, but all the quarterbacks will be off limits to contact, especially because there is so much shuffling along the offensive line that could put the signal callers in precarious positions. A few other players who had off-season surgery, notably Riddick, tight end Kyle Rudolph and outside linebacker Darius Fleming, will make only “cameo” appearances.

The teams will be balanced on both sides so it won’t be a case of starters going against second- and third-team units. For continuity, some positional groups such as cornerback will be kept intact, whereas safety will be more flexible.

Normal game rules will apply and there will be not be any specialized scoring awarded for first downs, sacks, a gain of 10 yards or more, etc. However, on special teams, all punts will be fair caught, no field goals or extra points can be blocked by the defense, and there will be no kickoffs and kickoff returns — where usually the most violent plays in football occur. All possession will begin from the offense’s 30-yard line.

The first half will be run as a game situation, and then at halftime the coaches will make an assessment on where to go from there, which could include a running clock in the second half.

“We hope to make it exciting for our fans, but more than anything else we need the work,” Kelly said. “We won’t do a lot defensively. You won’t see much. You’ll probably leave going, ‘Wow, our defense didn’t get the kind of progress that we’re hoping.’ I’m just preparing you for it right now. This is going to be set up for offense. We want to get out there and show some exciting football, but we know that at the end of the day our defense made great progress this spring.”

University of Notre Dame Official Athletics Site - Football

From the und.com video crew:

If you don't support Silverlight, the initial page has a Windows Media Player that will show the full game (but is not able to be enlarged).

If you can operate Silverlight (our All-Access player) then you will be able to watch the game in a larger screen, or full screen...

Full coverage begins at 1:20 p.m. ET - the stream is up now for everyone to test to make sure you can see the video...

If you click the link now don't expect to see any action now. You'll get text that tells you to "NOT YET BEGUN PLEASE TRY BACK LATER". But you should be able to see if your computer works with this setup. Sorry ipads users, you're SOL.
