Looking good with Andre Jones.
While he's not looking to make a formal commitment for quite a while, the 6-foot-4, 305-pound blue-chip does have some schools that are standing out on his early list.
"I would say Notre Dame, UTEP, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M," he said. "Those are the top schools right now."
And what if Texas comes forward with an offer, as expected?
"I think the three schools that it would be if Texas offers me would be Texas, Notre Dame and UTEP," said Jones. "I want to say Texas A&M and Oklahoma State would be the other two."
While the Minors have the clear advantage in proximity, Jones it sounds like Notre Dame is the team to beat at this point and it looks like Texas will vault up his list once an offer is in hand.
"(Texas) would be up there with Notre Dame," he said "I think Notre Dame would be No. 1 right now. They offered me early and I think I can fit in up there because I lived up there for a while. But at the same time I'd like to stay in Texas."
About the Longhorns, Jones said "It's a big football team and it's a great place to get my education."
Jones is not planning to attend any other junior days besides the stop in Austin, and he's still considering which summer camps he'll attend.
