I was like everyone else 2 years ago who wanted to hang this kid for his fumbling problems. Then last year he really showed me something as all through spring he was working to get back onto the depth chart. I expect big things from him this year, and hope he does really well to get a chance in the draft

agreed. i like the way thomas hits the hole - his power running style is a nice change up to walker. he really came through at So Cal last year.

I didn't want to hang him up. He was very green. But the fumbles were very dissapointing. I'm really happy for the way things are working out for him.

No Ryan Harris? No Victor Abiamari?

Neither of them seems to be the outspoken type that makes them a natural leader. I'm not saying they aren't leaders. I think that class is full of them. But if you want one from O and one from D, Quinn and Zibby are naturals. They are the field generals. They are the faces of Notre Dame football 2006.

They both seem more of the quiet type....and with the system of one defensive and offensive captain Quinn and Zibby were obvious choices,I like how Thomas got it for Special Teams...he showed me a lot last year.

Harris and Abiamari certainly lead by example, but I guess they aren't the 'rah-rah' kind of guys that can command a locker room.

Harris seems to be the quiet, but fiery intense type.

He is one of my all time favs at ND, and he plays offense. Blah.

My favorite players have usually all been on D. But I like everything about Harris. He is intelligent, spiritual, passionate and nasty.

But is Thomas a season captain or is this the week by week thing? Does he go down in the books as being one of the captains for 2006? He was also the ST captain for the first game last year vs. Pitt. but he wasn't for the whole year. I'd say he's a leader.

I answered my own question. From B&G Illustrated

"Because of his newness to the team last season, Weis picked the special team captains on a game-by-game basis. This season, Thomas will serve as the special teams captain all the way through."

hehe, look at it this way, at least he's a lineman, not one of those guys who wears a red jersey in practice and never gets hit:)

Hey, anybody know if the 4 letter network (or any other national network for that matter) is televising the Blue & Gold game this year? They televised Oklahoma's a week ago or so. Just wondering.
