Okay, I posted my football observations in the General section.

Wow! That's all I can say. I took my aging mother (ND is a bucket list item) and my 15 yo daughter, who is interested in going there. We went through an admissions meeting, and took the tour. Our guide is best friends with the only person I know at ND right now, so that was a plus. They are on the volleyball team. We took a lot of wrong turns, and ended up going in the Leahy entrance first. So my kid says "mmm, I expected it to be a little prettier" to which I agreed but still picked on her for saying. All we saw were the parking lot and building construction.

The admissions info opened my daughters' eyes for sure. She just finished her Fr year, and got her first B ever after tanking (76) her geometry final. She avg'd 96 on her other 6 finals, with the hardest schedule allowed. She got the point about grades without me having to say a word. because school has been relatively easy for her, I think she thought she's just walk in the door no questions asked. Now she is worried that her first B could keep her out, which suits me fine.

I won't go into each building, but the whole place is incredible. Now I know why the meal plan is so expensive! Plus, I gained 5 pounds on this trip, and my mom 4 pounds. Inside the basillica, uh........no words. Couldn't see the outside with all the scaffolding. I'd like to go back when there isn't so much construction, cause that was going on everywhere. All for a good cause though!

Now I know the lay of the land, we are hoping to come in for our first game this fall, against one of the lower tier teams, so it will be easier to get tix. Now I know the roads when you guys talk about this side of campus, etc. And I know where the bad side of town is, cause it happened to be where our hotel was. :stupid:

I could talk forever, but theres no sense. Thanks to those (who I won't name) that helped me plan my trip. I don't want everyone hitting you up for advice, unless you want that. You know who you are.

taking your daughter there was a genius move.

I was accepted to Notre Dame but never had visited. I just applied on a whim, I had always intended on following the family tradition and go to IU. I also opted to go to Indiana because I was 18 years old and sororities, basketball and friends were more important. My first college road trip to South Bend and I was :verysad: WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!

I took both of my boys to Notre Dame and Indiana. They were in awe of both campuses. I think the state of Indiana needs a big ole pat on the back for having those two campuses (Purdue is a good school I GUESS) in one small state. They worked their tails off in high school because their eyes were opened to the possibilities. They ended up elsewhere but have always said those two campuses are the best there is.

Good luck with your daugther!

Glad everything worked out well for you and your family, MSmack. Drop me a line if you're ever in town for a game.

I know you guys would say that. Anyway, I don't take pics anymore. Of anything. I keep my pics in my mind. My daughter however took a few hundred I'm guessing. I'll see if I can get a hold of a few winners.

Jason, thanks for the help. I'll PM in more detail about things when I get time this week, and give you some feedback on things. I've been swamped since I've been back.

PS I saw your dorm, and I think lacrosse campers were using your dorm last week.
