Won the Elite 11 LA Regional over Tate Martell and Jack Sears.

Has been in contact with ND for a long time. He's not the polished read option, running QB ND has been collecting lately but he does show the ability to do so in his film. I don't know the temperature of ND and his conversations but when you win the LA Elite 11 you are on everyone's radar.

Really enjoyed his Junior highlight. Very poised, solid arm strength and footwork, willing to step up in the pocket regardless of pressure. Looks like a kid that deserves to be ranked much higher. Maybe not the upside of Sears but perhaps a higher floor, at least in the passing game?

He's gonna be this year's Patrick O'Brien who went from zero to hero over the 7v7 season and was an early enrollee at Nebraska. Interesting story about Garbers is he didn't get the QB job at CDM until Pete Bush got hurt in the '14 season. When Bush came back he went to TE/WR. Pete Bush is ND PWO Sam Bush's brother and Pete is deciding between ND and Michigan as to where he will be a PWO. (Sounds like its gonna be Michigan)

In regards to Garbers vs Sears, if you would have asked me to compare floors and ceilings of the two before today, I would have gone Sears on both accounts by a lot BUT obviously, Dilfer and his crew disagreed and I'll side with them over me every time. lol

Yeah, Dilfer certainly tends to prefer the cerebral pocket passers - but those aren't necessarily the guys who win championships in college either. College has been trending to much more mobile QBs for quite a while now. You'd think he may want to somehow incorporate some of those tangible skills into the competition to gauge how effective mobile QBs like Sears are. I definitely think it's more important for QBs than any other position to find the right scheme that fits their abilities. Sears is more in that ND mode, whereas Garbers looks more like the traditional pro-style (USC) type of QB.

He's had a good 100 days.

Another good QB that Sanford/Denbrock were in early on and decided to go a different route.

Washington took Haener last week when they saw the writing on the wall. Cal's been sneaky good lately. A lot of good, ND type 3 stars with a confused 5 star sprinkled in. SC will probably regret this unless they can steal Sears away from UCLA.

According to Dilfer, ESPN got it right for once.
