Rivals lists Overton as an ILB while ESPN lists him as an OLB and Scout has No profile on him yet.

He ran a 4.95 40 and a 4.49 Shuttle at the US Army National Combine January 7, 2010.

The 4.95 is a high 40 but apparently everbody's time was "high". The best 40 record was a 4.55 and that was the only 40 under 4.6. There were only 6 times posted under 4.70 and there were about 500 prospects at that combine.

HS coaches have notoriously fast thumbs when timing 40s. I don't know if this Combine had a slow track or just honest timers.

Yeah, I was thinking that was a high 40 time, but with that explanation, maybe he is faster than that!

Here's to a great class in 2011!!!(Lifts beer and takes a swig!!)

As much as everyone is obscessed over forty times, they can be very overrated. Many times dont transfer over to football speed, so looking at the film should help to gauge him better.

If he is catching up and bringing down all the faster skill position guys, we will probably be okay. Also have to look at his lateral movement, ability to shed, read steps, etc.

Forty times, often ran without pads, on tracks in track spikes, with nobody trying to block you. They are not that big of deal. especially since BGIF already explained the actual times at that specific combine.

Also, if his lifing stats are accurate, that is definately a pound for pound kid to look at. 196 pounds putting up that weight as a Junior in high school is just strong.

Blue and Gold lists a 4.55 40 in contrast to the 4.95 at the US Army National Combine.

I hope that he's faster than a 4.95 40 IF he signs w/ the Irish. If not, then I hope that time is 'dead on'! :)
