Hale's a big boy. That 6-4 290 was measured at the US Army Combine in January.

Rivals lists him as a DT.
Scout lists him as a DE and he has hte size for a 3-4 DE.
ESPN lists him as a OT.

We started last season vs. CG. This kid was massive. Only reason CG lost to Warren Central was they rolled to Cover 3 the entire game, they ran to the edges behind the tackle, and Shakir Bell had a lot of one-on-ones w/ the OLBs and Safeties.

He and his DT running buddy are good. REAL GOOD.

That is a big big kid. What all did he do at the combine? Just weigh in or did he participate?

The shuttle and bench numbers are amazing for a kid his size.

From the USA Combine site, he did everything but the 40.

His bench was tied for 10th best overall at that event. His shuttle was very good for a lineman but as there was no position listed he time can't be readily compared with other linemen at that event.

Joel Hale (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove) is one of the Midwest's premier defensive line prospects. The 6-foot-4, 290-pounder started a few games his sophomore season and started his entire junior season as Center Grove advanced to the final four of the state playoffs. Hale had approximately 50 tackles, including four sacks.

He has a dozen scholarship offers and some schools are recruiting him as a defensive end, while others say defensive tackle. His list is made up of Ohio State, Michigan State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Purdue, Indiana, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Kentucky, Duke and Toledo.

Hale will make his second visit to Ohio State Friday and attend one of the Buckeyes' spring practice sessions. Kelly doesn't seem interested in interior linemen on either side of the ball this year.
