... Jay Rome will be a Super 11 player in the state of Georgia. Rivals and Scout both agree that Rome is not only one of the top players in the state, but also one of the top rated players in the nation. Top 100 quality. ... Jay is an All-State basketball player too. He's also an "A Student."
... Jay Rome likes Georgia and is considering Georgia. ... Jay has a former Valdosta High teammate at Georgia, Michael Gilliard. ... Jay can also see a good fit as a tight end in the Bulldog system (see Bulldog TE's that have moved on to the NFL).
I spoken with a lot of people that believe he will end up going to Clemson, just like Dad. And yes, he is considering Clemson. But he's also taking a close look at Alabama, Florida and Tennessee. And know this, this process has a long way to go.
Right now, Jay is excited about Valdosta High's new coach Lance Gillespie, who will throw the ball around some, unlike the previous coach. Jay is also about to jump into to some AAU basketball. ... So, basketball will factor into his college decision.
