i can see MAYBE 9-3 if something amazing happens, but the real question, would a win over a potential top 5 team put us at that magic #14 slot?

If discussing a White Sox loss from the 2011 season...sounds about right.

If discussing Notre Dame's record come January 7 or so, I'm pleased with that.

Wins over Stanford and FSU. Possible, but I don't want to tease myself. The defense (especially LBs) will have to play spectacularly to beat Stanford. Not to mention the team has to avoid coming out slow against Maryland and BC, both of whom can beat us. Let's just say I believe in the possibility, but will not raise my hopes to such a level as to expect it.

I hope we don't play a BCS game with Tommy Rees as our QB. He can really stare down a receiver though

There's a 95% chance they are 8-3 heading to Palo Alto, we know that much.

Can they beat Stanford? I think it's best to take today's game with a grain of salt, it's just one game.

We can assume that they will get the whole "playing on the road" thing under their belts and a slow start wouldn't be a big fear of mine.

No more injuries and with a fully healthy Ethan Johnson, and this team has a solid chance.

From there, Notre Dame win or lose is heading to the Champs Sports Bowl and an ACC opponent doesn't strike fear into my eyes.

10-3 would be greatttttt

Some one help me out here.

Tommy Rees was 4-0 as a starter in 2010.

And is 6-2 as starter in 2011.

10-2 right?

There were tons of people calling for Lynch to start at DE. As much as we love Lynch, losing EJ and Kapron hurts big time now. DL will be a huge strength in the future, but now we are talent big, and experience weak. We need Ethan back in a big way.

It's really been the Tommy Rees show this year. I love it how he makes players like Eifert, Floyd and Goodman into super stars. Definitely wouldn't give any credit to the running game nor are defense...

O wait. NM. Tommy's been ok, the rest of the team (with a few key exceptions, especially on D) is freakishly good, and we've played a pretty soft schedule this year.

Brady Quinn would be 9-0 this season. Indisputable fact.
