Goes to my school, and he's a QB. A quarter back. (obviously he has the tools to play WR or DB as well)

My honest opinion? A really good player, an awesome guy (always seemed really cool/down to earth when i talked to him) but he might be just one step below ND-caliber talent. I fully expect him to get offers from Maryland, WVU, etc.

I knew that but I've seen him listed as a CB as well, and I highly doubted he'd be recruited at QB for ND. That's why I listed him as a CB/ATH.

Ok fair enough.

He has in fact started playing DB for our high school...I think he and the coaches both have realized that's his best shot at playing major D1 football. To be honest, I'm really impressed with him. He's obviously got straight line speed (4.43 40 during the summer before his JR year), but he is very quick. Also surprised me with his willingness to make contact. It seems playing defense comes pretty naturally to him.

Why can't he play for ND?

He could, I just don't really know if he's up to that talent level. Almost certainly not enough talent at QB (although he is quite good at the highschool level). He may be able to make it at a major D1 school like ND as a DB though. He certainly has the raw, physical tools to do it.
