McAdoo is starting to get some attention from ND as a potential DE offer. His current D1 offers are only from Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Vanderbilt, none of whom are apparently his favorites. McAdoo considers Georgia, Tennessee, and ND as his favorites with Georgia in the lead, and is hoping to eventually get an offer from all three, also saying that of the three he is expecting ND to offer first.

Is this a case of lowered expectations/results by ND?

Could be just posturing by the recruit, but he is considered by some to be one of the Top 5 recruits in Tennessee, which is what Harrison Smith was. He may get an offer, but I would be somewhat surprised to see it until after most of the rest of the DL prospects decide.
