The Scout database is listing DeAndre Brown as an ND offer. This offer is not confirmed elsewhere in Scout, nor is there any news of it on Irish Eyes, Rivals, or B&G, so for now Brown will not be listed as an Official Offer on Irish Envy.

If the offer is confirmed for this Rivals & Scout 100 to Watch Wide Receiver for 2008, Notre Dame would be venturing into the somewhat uncharted waters (for ND) of Mississippi HS football for the first time in the 2008 class. DeAndre would be only the 3rd Mississippi athlete in the last 5 years to receive an ND offer, and the only one during that period who plays one of the so-called Offensive Skill positions. Mississippi talent at the skill positions almost always end up at SEC schools, and almost every SEC school has offered DeAndre. It would also be the 7th offer extended to a WR for this class, and the 2nd in a week, which may or may not indicate some concern about the recruiting status of the uncommitted WR’s holding ND offers.
