Well, Cave isn't in college. And I have to agree with the above posters, it's usually 185 that's used at the camps.

If you look at his first picture, it is 225 that he is putting up there. It has two 45's on each side. If he is benching 405 like it says too, then it is 225 he is most likely putting up that many times. Quinn benches in the 400's and put up 24 reps of 225.

Yup, I just asked my friend. He benches 185 x 18 and he maxes out at liek 270 or something. So yeah, he is strong.

it's clearly him just working out doing incline press ( upper chest for those of you who don't work out ) he's just doing a normal workout and someone snapped a photo not big deal....no more speculation it's 185 for a fact i played FB in high school not longer than a year ago

Yeah, thats true. But you do less on incline than you do on bench anyway. But this is stupid.

Does anyone know how often notre dame recruits in the michiana area? to me it seems like they almost never do. i don't understand how living by notre dame wouldn't give them a huge advantage over other recruits.

There are not a lot of elite D1 players in Michiana area for us to recruit.

You are correct. It is at 185 lbs.

Here is a chart for scaling up with 185 and 225. If he maxes at 405, he is definitely doing 27-28 reps at 225. Very strong kid for his age, I think we got ourselves a great player.

Weight 185 225
Reps
1: 185 225
2: 196 239
3: 202 245
4: 207 252
5: 213 259
6: 218 266
7: 224 272
8: 229 279
9: 235 286
10: 241 293
11: 246 300
12: 252 306
13: 257 313
14: 263 319
15: 268 326
16: 274 332
17: 279 339
18: 285 345
19: 291 352
20: 296 358
21: 302 365
22: 307 371
23: 313 378
24: 318 384
25: 324 391
26: 329 397
27: 335 404
28: 340 411
29: 346 417
30: 351 424

Braxston is finally starting to receive some national recognition as he is now ranked nationally as the #85 recruit, and #1 Offensive Center on the most recent ESPN 150. Kudos to Braxston, I'm sure even though he is solidly committed to ND that he is going to start getting tons of text messages etc. Time to throw away the cell phone.

The ESPN 150 is actually starting to make a little sense now as they continue their evaluations. Sweat is no longer the #1 rated LB, Arthur Brown now has that distinction. It looks like that eventually half of the ESPN list will just be who Charlie Weis is offering as now 34, and growing every day, of the 51 recruits on the Irish Envy Official Offer List are also on the ESPN 150.

Hey IUB, do you post as Aeroforz or something on 4HL? I swear I could distinguish by your writing style... and then this post kind of confirmed that.

Those guys must be a lot smaller than him cuz he was just running them over! It looks like he plays w/ a lot of agression which will be perfect for some smash mouth football.

And thanks for the link 1023

Penn doesn't exactly play in the best football conference either. In fact one of the NIC's (Northern Indiana Conference) better teams left the conference when I was an upper classmen in high school to join my old conference (NLC - Northern Lakes Conference) so they would have better competion to play during the year. There was also recent talk of Penn possibly leaving the NIC for the Duneland Conference because of the same reasons, which is also why they started playing Indy's Ben Davis HS and Clev.'s St. Ignatius HS.

NIC Schools:
Penn (5A)
Mishawaka (5A)
Elkhart Central (5A)
Mishawaka Marian (3A)
SB St. Joseph's (3A)
SB Clay (4A)
SB Washington (4A)
SB Riley (5A)
SB Adams (4A)

Used to include Elkhart Memorial (5A), and the now disbanded SB LaSalle (4A) instead of St. Joe, and Marian.

I was going to say the same thing. Penn doesn't have much competition around here, and Ben Davis usually gets the best of them.

It really would benefit them to move to the NLC or Duneland. Most of the schools in the NIC aren't known for quality men's sports teams other than basketball.

Even if they end up giving the kid a 1*, it wont matter to me. He is going to be awesome and is already. Not only is he a great football player, but it also seems a great recruiter. Every time another Notre Dame Recruit stays at his house they seem to commit shortly after.

Cowin Brown might have something to do with that too.

I have heard for a few days now that one of ND's recruits will be getting another star by the time Rivals is done with their batch of rankings. Since none of the current four star guys gained a 5th star that means that one of the three star guys will be getting a fourth star. Then in today's article of Previewing the ranked Rivals 250 they list three players from the state of Indiana that will be in the new Rivals 250. Well, Goodman is obviously one of them since he was in the first edition, so it would only make sense that Cave will be that guy getting another star as well as being added to the 250 since Rivals lists him as the #2 prospect in Indiana behind Goodman.
