Pretty much, it’s the defendant saying they are not guilty however taking a plea deal to avoid trial, where you would get a much worse sentence when found guilty. The defendant knows the Prosecutions evidence would be too much to overcome in trial.

The starting running back was just arrested for DUI recently. However the DUI was dropped and he plead guilty to minor in possession of alcohol and open container if I remember correctly.
