Alford left because he wasn't gonna have a legit shot to promote into a coordinator role at ND. He was passed up in 2011 when they went with Chuck Martin to replace Molnar. He was passed up again in 2014 when they replaced Martin with Denbrock. He was passed up AGAIN in 2015, when they brought...

Negativo. All reports have him landing in Eugene.

'25 WI OT Owen Strebig (Notre Dame Signee)

Agreed. Strebig's technique was straight trash on that play. I will say, that was insanely impressive power from Hill though. A 220 pound edge rusher just straight up knocking a near 300 pound lineman on his butt is something else.

Late third, you're probably not going to find a super sure-fire player at a position of need. There's going to be some development needed once you get into the middle rounds. I like the pick, because the dude has positional versatility and the size to be a dominant tackle or guard. 6'5 325...

Thought he made the wrong choice, but it worked out for him. Dude has the talent to make it in the league. It's all about him wanting it. His big issue at ND was consistency. If he can shore up his consistency in the NFL, he'll make it.

Context matters. The Louisville game was the 3rd straight primetime game, 2nd straight on the road against an undefeated ranked opponent, and 7th straight game overall, with injuries littered all over the offense. ND was basically playing without their starting receivers. The defense had to...

There's higher than non 0 chance that our DL takes over this game. A&M's DL is good. ND's is better. ND's OL is a concern. A&M's OL is a bigger one.

People thought the same of Ohio State QBs. Didn't really matter to Stroud.

Wow. I don't think anybody expected Odunze to be there at 9. Zero defensive prospects either in the top 10.

I put zero stock in bowl games, because there's no way to gauge how good each team is, given more often than not, several of their team's best players opt out. I mean, I liked what I saw from ND's shellacking of Oregon State, but I'm fairly certain that had everybody played, ND wouldn't have...

'20 MS DB Caleb Offord (Notre Dame Signee)

Man, that 2020 DB class was just...yikes: Landon Bartleson (never made it to campus, arrested) Caleb Offord (transferred, never played serious minutes) Clarence Lewis (played a lot his freshman year, played less and less each passing year) Ramon Henderson (reservist safety, could never nab...

I mean, he probably isn't going to be anything past a depth piece at Bama, the way they recruit.

That is more of a self-fulfilling prophecy though. It's the same way that Penn State ended up with 10 wins. It wasn't so much that Penn State was good, than it was that the rest of the Big Ten was absolutely terrible. So Penn State ripped off wins against the vast majority of the conference...

To be fair, there's been huge chunks between 2001 and now where the Bears didn't even have a 1st round pick. It's also hard to put the failures of Angelo, Emery and Pace on Poles. In fact, Poles has had one 1st round pick so far in Darnell Wright, which so far, has looked like a pretty good...

I'm just gonna go ahead and say it. The SEC West wasn't all that good last year. Yes, Alabama used their regular voodoo magic to upend Georgia, but let's be real, outside of that, they looked very beatable all season. They had multiple close shaves against mediocre teams like South Florida...

Eichenberg was around 300 at ND. He was a first team All-American. Martin was somewhere around 300-305 at ND. Another All-American. Hainsey was around 290-295 at ND. It's definitely not a requirement for a tackle to be 315. It's nice to have, but if they can handle edge rushers in pass pro...

He's 292 with plenty of room to grow. He didn't look that undersized out there on Satuday. Based on everything I saw and read, he outperformed Baker. He can get up to 300 before fall camp.

I think it's possible. But frankly, I'd like to see Wagner move to LT and Jagusah to RT. I think Wagner's game is more suited to take on quicker pass rushers, while Jagusah is a monster run blocker who can take on the bull rush from the strongside.
