The big difference so far in Freeman's recruiting versus Kelly's is not the top of the class but the middle of the class. There is more consistency, positionally, and at the middle of the class.

Good point. That's good for recruiting and publicity but not necessarily winning. This roster still needs a lot. Having a surprise one and done will be great for publicity but not necessarily winning in year 2, just as an example.

You and I agree on quite a bit. And, I'm not absolving O'Leary from responsibility here but this has been a problem for the 2 cycles before this as well. I think there is a very, very small chance that O'Leary is making depth chart decisions over Freeman's and/or Bowden's heads.

That was posted on April 16th, before Urlacher committed. I'm not as high on Urlacher though I understand why they took that commitment. But to answer the question, in a vacuum, no. Not ideal. But, if you plan on taking 4 or 5 not as worried.
