If the CFP really is going to emphasize SOS and the Big 10 / SEC challenge is off, then you could argue our independence is in a better spot today than we were a week ago.
From a neutral viewer perspective, the big non-conference games are one of the best parts of the sports. Have to assume to the TV partners are pushing this.
The rumored B10 v SEC “challenge” would really fuck us more than this.
Any talk about the DTs behind Dawson / Onye / Rubio? Gonna be a big hole there in 2026. Hopefully Sevillano, Mukam, and Hughes take a step + Hinish provides some good depth for another year, but a transfer (or 2) seems likely there.
Not a colts fan but he’d have to look really, really bad to not play him right? I mean what is the point of going 7-10 with Daniel Jones? Is that gonna save someone’s job?
If (when) we ever go through a bumpy stretch as a program, I’m expecting the beat to go after MF. He’s made their jobs near impossible and has embarrassed the fuck out of them lol. What do they care if we are winning if they can’t sell Subscriptions.
You can’t tell me this isn’t a top down strategy by the Big Ten because they’re worried about the SEC taking more playoff spots. Truly embarrassing.
And their company line about this matching “SEC scheduling” because they have nine conference games is just crap. Look at the top SOS teams every...
We really just need to go 1-1 against Miami and A&M. This team has so much talent that we won’t be less than a touchdown favorite against anyone else on the schedule. 11-1 almost certainly guarantees a home playoff game.
I’m glad MF is thinking long term here. He has so much built up good will...
If we were an SEC school, Notre Dame’s account would quote this tweet with something like “Irish fans, Miami STILL hasn’t sold out our game week 1, buy your tickets here”.
Really embarrassing to not be sold out at this point for them.
Really thought Mills and Cross were good, not great last year (probably due to nagging injuries) and don’t expect a significant drop off at DT between Onye / Rubio / Dawson / Hinish.
Hearing Denbrock praise Eli like that is pretty surprising. He’s not the the type to blow smoke. Would obviously mean a ton for the offense if he takes a big step / has regained his athleticism.
