'19 CA ATH Isaiah Foskey (Notre Dame Signee)

Devil's advocate: Or, it further validates their approach...that some guys, who are "true ND men" will choose the degree over the bag, while all others who take the money "just aren't a fit for ND in the long run."

    Coaching Carousel

I completely understand. I'm just questioning the opportunity cost. Is it possible that maintaining a coaching staff over a two or three year span could prove more beneficial than a constant revolving door? Hard to compare kids and coaches, but I liken it to the 5* one-and-done bball rosters...

    Coaching Carousel

I'm fully aware of the mindset (and endorse said point of view) regarding a sign of a good coaching culture at schools is the turnover rate, in which coaches leave for P5 or NFL jobs. This offseason reflects that. But I do question the threshold in which it becomes a burden to handle such an...

    New Apparel and Shoe Deal

The answer is Nike with the added requirement that every blue chip recruit's family gets a job with a giant salary.

    COVID-19

Imagine a world in which the MSM and leading experts in a field can say "Water is dry and the Earth is flat" and half the population not only rushes to agree with them, but bans, censors, scolds, fines/fires employees in order to prove their superiority. We still have to wear masks around...

    COVID-19

I agree. There is something particularly pathological with these types of people. I see this sort of derangement on both sides, but in regards to Covid, these "great people" are all 6 shots deep and finger waving to everyone about "following The Science TM." It's truly mind boggling.

    Tesla's Revolutionary Model 3

The last apartment I lived in, I had three different neighbors in three different units who made over $350k per year. All had the same story...business owner, divorced, cheaper to live in an apartment than a house, big on investing their surplus, drove fancy cars. Changed my perspective...

    Yikes. Not good, Bob.

    Tesla's Revolutionary Model 3

I had to reiterate this point to a friend of mine who loathes Tesla (probably for some weird anti-Musk reasons) and is leaning towards getting an Ioniq 6. Non-Tesla EVs can't compete with Tesla when it comes to the Supercharger network. That's a good article. There are many valid take-home...

    COVID-19

I've been genuinely depressed by what's happening in our world regarding MSM, government, Big Pharma, Big Tech, etc. I have some thoughts to post, much of which will be an off the cuff recollection of events. Bare with me. TLDR; Covid was real, the response was bad, the disinformation and...

    Career Change Advice

My wife is a teacher. I tell her that she should leave all the time. She loves teaching, just not the politics and policies that interfere with her ability to do her job. I feel guilty, but I tell her I'd prefer to send our kids to private schools constantly...and she works for one of the top...

ND's Talking Heads ... The good, bad & ugly

All good. I heard him say it too and it shocked me. I'm just not sure how much he believes that. Which ultimately is my problem with the overall beat in general.

ND's Talking Heads ... The good, bad & ugly

That was a bit out of context. The conversation was about how they don't really think Watt is ready unless Harry was going to be around in some sort of analyst, mentor role (which he's not) so they joked about how Harry still lives close by and he can pick his brain all he wants. Prister did...

ND's Talking Heads ... The good, bad & ugly

I've lost respect for pretty much every ND talking head. I try to ingest as much content as a can from various reporters/pods/etc. in order to help paint a broader picture of what's happening within the program. I'm convinced none of them know and are scrambling to maintain relevant to their...

Thanks. In all three instances, I knew at least one person personally (people in higher up positions with pull). I work in a small field, so the degrees of separation between connections are minimal. In all three instances, I had multiple connections - directors, managers, doctors, owners...

I agree. I had no idea it would be this difficult to get a local position. National, remote position? Yes. But not local. At all three places, I knew multiple people (in a position to hire) and it still didn't matter. I've been the bridesmaid all three times.

Thanks. Yes it kills my energy too. And I stayed for the same reasons. In hindsight, had I known this place would basically trap me, I should've left ten years ago. Loyalty isn't rewarded anymore these days.

    Tesla's Revolutionary Model 3

Is your trip to Florida only once per year? Why not just rent a gas vehicle for that trip? We drive to Florida once or twice per year and we always rent a Chrysler Pacifica PHEV because, I agree, driving a full EV from Indiana to Florida doubles our trip time. With the Pacifica, we get 30...
