Zak Keefer is one of the most well regarded reporters on the Indy beat (via The Athletic and previously IndyStar) and he has said more than once that he feels it's unlikely to be Saturday. Morris, Callahan, and Steichen seem to be the finalists right now.

IIRC Freeman had a frank conversation with Carr when he committed about Rees' inevitable departure when he is ready for a new job so I'm not too worried on that front. Will be very curious to see who takes over if this happens though. Not a true ND offseason without some drama.
