My 2 cents is maybe because WR coach is a better gig than TE coach- more pay, more opportunities, etc. I don't take his move away from coaching TE's as a slight against him.

I think a staff could bring a TE coach with an Air Raid Offense background and it also not mean they are switching to an Air Raid Offense theirselves. A HC that prefers to run a 4-3 defense could hire a DL coach from a 3-4 system and it not mean they are changing their entire defensive philosophy.

I think Rhule is an excellent coach. He seems like the type, though, that wouldn't put up with the BS of boosters and alumni. If he were to some how end up there, I could see him being there for a season or two, then bolting. But I also don't think he would leave his NFL job for meatshit.
