I was looking at preseason All American lists and Michael Mayer is listed as second team. Not sure how a dude can be as good as him and Not get the recognition he deserves. He would be the best tight end on many NFL teams this year IMO.

Definitely serious. No HIGH SCHOOL football player is worth that coin without proving something first. I am all for paying players, but $9m for a QB who isn’t even the top of his class is outrageous.

I would be less worried about the fans perspective changing as a whole, and more about access based on any change networks may have. Will networks heavily favor the pro model, pushing the academics to the side.

Can you do one that shows where defenses would rank without the offensive Time of possession being a factor? Or is it possible the contribution to defensive success isn’t easily measured? Do those statistics take into account scoring drives? Length of drive? Or just basic Time of Possession?

One of the arguments above is that Brady utilized possession receivers(TE's/RB's etc.), but benefited greatly from outstanding defenses. Keeping possession of the ball limits the opportunities the other team has to score, thus the Patriot defense benefited greatly from the style of football...

Eh…I understand why people have this viewpoint but I don’t entirely agree with it. It’s obviously not comparable to the greatest generation, but there would be a portion of society that would hold up the weak.

This is all correct and comes down to coaching experience. ND should have seen the tempo coming and made adjustments. When the strength of your defense is matchups/sub packages a good coach will try and exploit that with tempo. Gundy is a great coach.
