USC & UCLA to the Big Ten

Once a southern mega conference is formed, those major southern teams won’t need the exposure and income of playing ND, we will be stuck playing group of 5 teams twice a year. That’s probably not the exposure that moves the needle for ND. It’d be cool to be in the Big 10 from a scheduling...

USC & UCLA to the Big Ten

Sure, I think some recruits are fine with their parents just watching on TV, but I don’t think the parents are always ok with that. I agree that non-conference can offset some of the loss of a southern footprint, but eventually the big southern brands aren’t gonna play ND in non conferences and...

USC & UCLA to the Big Ten

It doesn’t. But, having opponents in the south makes it easier to recruit the South — the ACC schedule we play allows this. It’s the same reason we’ve kept USC and Stanford on the schedule all these years — as well as market share. My point is, we have maximized our market share and recruiting...

USC & UCLA to the Big Ten

100% agree. A BIG 10 with no southern footprint would be a non-starter, for me. ND might be able to leverage invites to UNC, Miami, and FSU as a condition. Otherwise, wait for the ACC to make a move.

USC & UCLA to the Big Ten

Being the northernmost school in a southern conference should be the goal — it’s the ideal outcome for ND. Also, Georgia Tech and Miami are right there with ND, UVA, and UNC academically. I believe Florida and Georgia are way up there in terms of public schools — so this division is no slouch...

USC & UCLA to the Big Ten

A newly formed SEC East with Miami (Fl), Clemson, FSU, Florida, Georgia, SC, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, UNC, UVA, Norte Dame? I would take that over anything the BIG 10 could offer.

USC & UCLA to the Big Ten

No way this happens in a vacuum, there are definitely more dominoes to fall. To me, this seems part of an ACC/Big/PAC planned realignment. ND to a conference seems inevitable sooner rather than later.

ND's Talking Heads ... The good, bad & ugly

After exploring the various talking heads for a few weeks, a few things have become clear: - Tim, Tim & Pete are the most polished and professional, even if they are not always first to the scoop. Imo, it’s the best product. - Driskell is a hack as a journalist and “publisher”, as he refers to...

'23 MI QB Dante Moore (Greek Spaghetti Transfer)

Exactly. My nephew’s recent graduating class had 27 valedictorians and 40% of the class graduated “with honors”. 4.0 gpa is meaningless without more intel, it’s not the same scale as it was 20 years ago.

ND's Talking Heads ... The good, bad & ugly

From what I can tell in the short time I’ve been following he hasn’t changed. Defensiveness, condescension, hostility are pretty frequent from him on IB. He is seeing ghosts outs there. Still, the product is cheap enough that it doesn’t hurt to keep the subscription. He is a good analyst and...

Lol, I haven’t seen that, but I believe it.

ND's Talking Heads ... The good, bad & ugly

I’m looking for different things at different times. But, it does seem like the team at II is best for overall coverage of the program — they have an actual journalistic integrity to them. The others tend to seem more like fans who started a blog — which can be fun too. Maybe I’ll give ISD a...

ND's Talking Heads ... The good, bad & ugly

I’ve been getting back into all things ND football related since the Freeman Era began. As a result, I am learning a bit about the various ND oriented media outlets — Irish Illustrated, Blue & Gold, Rivals, ISD, Irish Breakdown, etc. They all have different strengths and weaknesses— but, which...
