    2026 Transfer Portal - General

Did the GT rules change in any way under latest portal rules and time frames? I thought I read something about GTs now having some limitations but not sure.

    2025 College Football Playoffs

As I said one big thing that sticks out, as soon as Hunter Yurachek comes in as new head of CFP SC (as a current SEC AD, AR no less whom we slaughtered earlier in the season), the positioning for this shift comes in. Obviously, he tries to be sneaky about initially but as the committee watching...

Time for new partner: Big 10 or SEC?

In the words of Lee Corso, "not so fast..." One small but important thing - Skydance Paramount and David Ellison just put in a higher per share hostile bid for WBD, but unsure how that will play out between them and Netflix getting WBD.

    Looking Ahead to 2026

I kind of see this point in time like OSU a few years back (left out of 2023 playoffs but did play a bowl game I think) where Ryan Day and OSU were pissed off (maybe by Lou Holtz's comments challenging Day and the team's manhood, LOL!) and decided they were gonna spend over $20 mill. (at a time...

Marcus Freeman named Dick Corbett Head Football Coach

That is one benefit of sitting at home for the CFP and any bowl game - MF and staff can focus on maximizing ND's portal needs and player acquisition since it's only one short portal right after the holidays. No playoff game distractions (of course, would love to have the conflict if we could).

Time for new partner: Big 10 or SEC?

I really do think this snubbing is going to be good for ND when we look back in a few years; and a turning point for the brand in the NIL / CFP / TP era. I'm not sure exactly what's going to happen, but I think we'll remain independent but expand our P4 interactions in some way in the near...

    2025 College Football Playoffs

To me it says... ACC gonna back and stump for its sibling (Miami, altho' I would say child) vs. a First Cousin once removed (i.e., /ND's special 5-team rotation partnership, but again, probably better termed a "red-headed step child!") :ROFLMAO:

    ACC discussion thread

Yeah, but if ND can negotiate a deal similar to the one w/ the ACC, it has to be a foregone conclusion that some of these games will be later in the season, just like we've played Miami, FSU, Clemson or any ACC team under the 5-team rotation in late Oct or early Nov plenty of times. It's on the...

    2025 College Football Playoffs

I noticed on X poster who replied to this stated... SHLAMA @TrustDave 18h "Barrie’s a dumbass. The team made the decision last week, not today (i.e., Sunday)." Is this true? If so, then it makes sense that this was not a rash, emotional decision by PB, MF, and the team.

    2025 College Football Playoffs

I always reference that team and season to show what can happen now with a 12- or 16-team field. They also started slow but Pete Carroll was still pretty new getting his imprint on the team and then all that talent! They also handily crushed ND that year at home in November that year. But there...

The Optimal Notre Dame Scheduling Model

Oh boy, with all the attention on ND and that we're a bunch of "rejected cry babies" everyone else is now scrutinizing and lambasting our 2026 weak-ass schedule. Notre Dame's 2026 Football Schedule Is 'Embarrassing'

‘23 TN QB Kenny Minchey (Notre Dame Signee)

It seems to me this is another very good reason to not play a bowl game... What if CJ and Buchner are only QBs left to play in it? We don't want Carr hurt for a meaningless bowl game and what kind of game would be if Buchner was the QB? I guess he did win a post-season bowl game before...

    The Pete Bevacqua Thread

A bit of a conspiracy theory but it sure does seem that the former Baylor AD and CFP Chair, was suddenly put on leave of absence at a very crucial time in the CFP rankings - only a few weeks into the Tuesday rankings - which gave new SEC AR AD and new CFP chair plenty of time to maneuver the...

    2025 College Football Playoffs

Hell, let's root for OR. I know they have Dinty Moore Stew and Lanning can be an arrogant SOB, but have they even ever won a CFB Championship? Either them or TTU, who cares anyway.

Time for new partner: Big 10 or SEC?

They are and that seems to be another issue post the great CFB shake up of the early 2020s... Now, there's a chance - like this year - that teams like IU, Ole Miss, TAMU, and really OSU, are kind of top heavy while at the same time not enough of the top teams playing each other which results in...

    The Pete Bevacqua Thread

The thing is... What leverage does Petey and ND have for extracting some tie ups with Big10 and SEC teams? Why should they agree to do that? Maybe there is some leverage I'm just not thinking about. Instead, maybe they are interested but want payouts in return for agreeing to do that. I don't know.

    2025 College Football Playoffs

If I hear one more "because you don't have a CCG" comment... They mean nothing in the CFP committee selection process (as illustrated this afternoon). Instead they provide a Union of sorts to protect the member teams interests (TV rights $ being one of the most important things) and having a...

To flip that script, will ND rejecting a bowl game cause Love to not be included in NYC ceremony next Saturday?
